Vehicle Detail
RELISTED - WINNING BIDDER RETRACTED BID! 1971 Pontiac GTO Convertible Ram Air One of only 79 Convertible GTOs w/4 speeds produced in 1971!!!!! This is a TRUE GTO. Have the documentation from Pontiac Historical Services. I have a copy of the original window sticker and build sheet for this exact car. If you would like a copy, I can scan and email it to you. This car was on the cover of "Legend", April 1992, Volume 10 Number 4. The article is titlted "A Rare Commodity - A '71 GTO Convertible". Original factory color is Lucerne Blue code 28. The top is white code 1, and interior is blue, code 261. The car doesn't have the original engine in it. It has a 400 with 1969 Ram Air IV round port heads, number 722 castings. These heads are worth five grand alone. The car has the original Ram Air hood with air cleaner. Edelbrock intake, q-jet carb, headers Factory 4 speed muncie trans w/console 355 posi rear-end with sway bar Original ralley wheels Power disc brakes Dual exhaust to rear bumper The car has sport mirrors with driver remote Hood tach (factory) works including the light in the tach Rear spoiler The car has been in storage for 10 plus years. The engine runs great. The transmission shifts great. Has a complete new tune-up. Car has 20 year old amatuer paint job. The frame is rock solid. Two small holes in the front floor pans (both sides) The car needs new trunk floor. The top is in excellent condition and it still works (POWER)!! The body has a couple bubbles in it on one rear quarter panel. windshield is cracked. This car needs some brake work - this would be a fantastic car to restore with some valuable history. It doesn't look bad now, but it warrants some attention and love. Call me if you have further questions. Name is Bill - number is 810.252.9194.
