Okay... The high bidder did not pay, so here we go again! Please, only serious bidders this time around! This beatle is a project i started almost 20 years ago... I bought it back in college, with every intension of restoring it... Good memories... the long hair days! I made a bit of progress, then moved to Califorinia (where they made me cut my hair!!! California... what???) in my '66 VW camper van. Anyway... the car has been sitting at my mothers for many years and I thought now might be a good time to send 'er down the road. Find it a new home... maybe someone that has the energy and vision I once had!?!?!? Or maybe to someone that just need the parts? From what I remember the engine number jived with the 1962 year that I was told it was. I do not have a title. But am more than happy to supply a bill of sale. I bought many parts for this bugger... and I always bought German, not the cheaper Mexican or Brazilian parts that were avalible. As you can see in the photos there is a new exhaust, etc etc... As far as the engine goes. I had it line bored, installed new german cylinders (standard 1200cc if I remeber correctly), ground the valve seats, lapped them in... etc etc... Everything was assembled with assembly lube, the engine has always been stored inside, but was never installed as you can see in the photographs. That being said the valve springs are a bit rusty and there are no garuntees on it's current internal condition. Should be fine... but? I did remove the body from the chasis, replaced the floor pans, had them painted with some super duper high tech paint and primer. As you can see in the photos the driver side floor pan is already rusted through (how volkswagon!?) as there is no driver side window and water did come in. The windshield is broken and there is of course (as you can see in the photos) rust holes. All said and done... the beauty of this car is you can see exactly what you are getting... no suprises under the carpet, running boards or paint! It's far from perfect, but is still a '62 beetle! Buyer is responsible for arranging shipping and all shipping cost. This VW is being sold with No Reserve!!!! If there is only one bid... it's sold! If you have any questions, or need additional photographes please do not hesitate to contact me One again... I plead with you not to waste my time... PLEASE only serious bidders that intend on following through!
