Vehicle Detail
Very rare all original 1980 Chrysler New Yorker equipped with even rarer top-of-the-line Fifth Avenue package. This body style was only made for 3 years (1979-1981) and only a few thousand were made in 1980, with an even smaller percentage equipped with the Fifth Avenue package, which includes: Special tu-tone cream paint/top/and leather seating; special lighter-toned woodgrain on dash and door panels; special seat pattern; special "Fifth Avenue" script in rear quarter windows; special hood ornament; and special "gills" in front quarters. This car also is equipped with AC (works great/blows COLD); power door locks, power windows; power seat; AM/FM stereo; carpeted floor mats, cruise, power trunk release, rear defroster, and wire wheelcovers. The car still wears its original factory paint and factory pinstripes (except one or two areas that look like they may have been resprayed a while back for scratches, etc.), original 1/2 vinyl top, and original leather interior. No cracks/rips in dash/door panels or seats (some minor leather wear on driver seat as seen in picture). This car is collector-owned and kept garaged. No rust I can find anywhere on the body or inside the trunk/door jambs, hood, etc. No dents. The passenger-side headlight cover/door does need a bracket on one side (so slightly crooked, as seen in photo.) Everything works on the car (including the AC and the power ant. for the original radio!). The original V-8 engine has 118K miles, runs on regular unleaded, and runs and drives fantastic with recent fluid change. Car has been regularly maintained. This is not a perfect 100-point show car/museum piece (nor is it being held out as such), but is an incredibly rare collectors' item in fantatstic shape that can be driven every day. The car was recently photographed for a national collector car magazine. The car is over 30 years old so there are no warranties/guarantees of any kind, express or implied, and the car is being sold as is/where is. Please ask all questions before bidding. I would be happy to show the car/let you drive it before bidding, if you prefer. I will not disclose the reserve during the auction. On Oct-17-10 at 17:32:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to clarify that the car is equipped with the 318 CID V-8 - not the 360.On Oct-20-10 at 06:17:03 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer some questions and eliminate some confusion about the engines used in these cars, this particular car has the smaller 318 CID V-8 with 2 barrel carb that came standard on these cars from the factory. The electronic fuel injection system used on the next year's (1981-1983) Imperial was NOT offered on these cars in 1980 and this car does NOT have that system. This car has the much more reliable standard carb system from the factory. Also, this is one of only 3608 New Yorkers built in 1980 with the Fifth Avenue package.
