Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a white 1986 BMW 325e with 138,000 miles. This car is in great shape with minimal rust for its age and has working cold AC with a R134a conversion required for modern cars. Mechanically this car is also in great shape. Many new parts (oil pan and gasket, water pump, front brakes, rear brake lines, tail lights and bulbs, antennae, master brake cylinder, coolant level sensor, miscellaneous trim pieces, driveshaft stabilizer mount). A few unnecessary things do not work on the car (e.g. the antennae does not go down, and a few erroneous indicating lights meaning nothing are on). This car would be great for a BMW collector or anyone looking for a historical car. Come January this car will have antique status meaning it won't require emissions testing no matter where you live, and no sales tax will be imposed if the vehicle is sold, also it will not be property taxed. If you are unfamiliar with the 325e, here is a quick breakdown of how this car came to be and what it has. In the late 80's when gas prices began to skyrocket, BMW was looking for an economic alternative for its 325is so customers had a fuel efficient option. They took the M20 motor from the 325is, bored it out and stroked it making it a 2.7L, bigger than the 2.5L of the 325is. they called the new motor the "eta" engine. This is what the "e" stands for. the motor makes less horsepower than the 325is but much more torque. 125hp and 173lb/ft. of torque. They only made this car and motor for 3 years (1984-1987), so as you can imagine it is a rare car. the E30 (body generation of this car) has more modification options than just about any other BMW ever made, so if you are looking to modify a BMW (turbo, exterior, motor, interior, etc.) then this is the car to go with. As you can see in the pictures I added smoked out tail lights and I think it gives the car a much better look from the rear.
