Vehicle Detail
1981 / 1982 Porsche 928 This is a non running car with no title, VIN# WP0ZZZ92ZBS800409 It was last registered in Texas about 20 years ago. It was brought to Ca, where I purchased the car on April 4, 1992. I never received a title for the car, just a bill of sale from the last owner. I recently contacted California DMV, who suggested to bring the car in for inspection and they will issue new paperwork, since the old records have been eliminated. However, I believe registering the car in Ca will be a problem due to import regulations and procedures as per my conversation with the prior owner and my dealings with DMV 18 years ago. This car maybe better suited for an out of state buyer, a foreign buyer, or for parts. It is a shame to disassemble this car for parts, but It is a complete car with a fabulous body. The body panels are flawless and extremely straight with no dents of any kind. The paint was top show quality, but it could use buffing to get it back to that level. The wheels and tires are still quite nice with some pitting. The car is very clean, and there are no rust issues of any kind. The engine was running when I purchased the car; however, I stopped maintaining the car about 12 years ago. The interior is also respectable, except the dash has some cracks in it, the driver seat has tears in it, and the driver door auto locking knob pin is broken. Also, the sunroof lid is not installed and it has scratches on it from being slid on the ground. All the glass is limo tint with film, so it can be removed. This is quite an amazing car with an all aluminum V8 engine with overhead cams, 5 speed transmission, aluminum fenders, hood and doors. It was Porsche’s top car of the time. For more information or to set up an inspection of the car, please call: (714)883-8549 or e-mail: bigrazorray@hotmail.com Please contact me for additional pictures, I have many more detailed pictures. There are a few parts not installed on the car, but still go with the sale of the car. If you are interested I can send a picture of the parts as well. Thank you TERMS OF SALE This car is being sold as a non-running car in need of repair. I can provide you with two bills of sale if you like, one from the prior owner, and one from myself. I have some repair records, and an owners manual. The car is being sold “as is” and no warranties are either expressed or implied. On Oct-20-10 at 15:33:46 PDT, seller added the following information: The engine is not frozen. I was asked to take a wrench, attach it to the front of the engine and turn it over. The engine turned over without any problem at all. I now have more detail pictures of the undercarriage, interior, exterior, etc; I can e-mail them to you if you are interested. Thank youOn Oct-21-10 at 09:53:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I now know that this car is a 1981 Euro version 928, which apparently is more desirable and more powerful then the US version cars; however, where you can register it in America is still questionable. I have pictures of the VIN tag, and the US Federal Safety Standard Sticker. There was nothing wrong with the engine when I parked it. I stopped driving the car because a cable or a pin broke that operates the clutch. So, I was no longer able to safely engage the car into gear. The car rolls and steers with no problem for transportation. It will need some attention, slight door adjustment, mirrors tightened, hood and rear hatch actuators replaced, right front turn signal lens cracked, etc. The car has sat a long time and it has loosened up a bit.On Oct-22-10 at 17:38:10 PDT, seller added the following information: There was an inspection of the car yesterday. The injector lines were clean and completely dry. The gas tank was also completely dry. The fuel pump did not seem to work. Fresh gas was put in the tank, then the fuel pump was removed for inspection and to drain the gas. The gas flowed out clean. The motor turns over easily, and there was power at the starter and ingnition. All the fuses were good except the horn fuse. The thought given to me at the time was that merely replacing the fuel pump or the fuel pump relay may start the car. This I do not know, I just want to update the auction with the information that I received. Thank you
