I am selling it because I just don't drive it anymore. I need more space for the family. The car only has about 92k miles on it, but the rebuilt engine only has about 3000 miles. It is the lightest model (base model). The turbo was initially set for 25psi, but it kept breaking the tires loose and was too scary to drive. I lowered the boost to 16psi, and in its current tune it has 285 HP and 270 lbs/ft. This turbo is famous for its low-end torque-producing boost. It starts positive boost around 1200 rpm, and reaches full boost (currently16psi) around 2800 rpm. Even with this lower boost, it's still much faster than my modified WRX. Boost can safely be raised to ~25psi, and horsepower should be around 325-350hp. Redline is currently set at 7000 rpm. It has never been in a wreck or had any major body work. There was some minor work done on the driver-side front fender above the wheel, but you can't even see it if you tried (see pics). Its inspection has lapsed as of last month. I recently removed the cat thinking I would maybe just race it on the weekends or something. So if your state requires inspection, you'll have to have means of getting it "inspected", or just replace the cat. Go here to see all the high-quality pics: http://webpages.charter.net/miataturbo/1996.htm Here is a little video of the car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etc-b8CZIhY The bad: Since I don't drive it much, the battery is low (~11Vdc) and may need to be replaced. The back window is starting to yellow and has a small crack in it. But whenever I drive it, the top is either down, or the back window is down when the top is up. So this doesn't bother me. A new window is ~$169 (http://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Part/31-1093.html?id=nu8pEcwk) The shocks are starting to go. They're about 10 years old now and need to be replaced. There is about a 10" scratch in the clearcoat (not in the color) on the rear driver-side fender. I tried to take pics of it but they didn't show up in the pic. It's not bad, just thought I should mention it. The previous owner must've driven over a big speed-bump, because the frame rails have dents in them. This doesn't seem to effect the handling performance though. If you wanted frame rail braces to potentially strengthen things up a bit, Flyin' Miata has some good ones for $159 (http://www.flyinmiata.com/index.php?deptid=4538&parentid=0&stocknumber=13-69010) That's it. Please email with any questions. Good luck bidding! On Oct-11-10 at 10:58:25 PDT, seller added the following information: I looked at the dyno graphs again today, and the torque is about 285 lbs/ft not 270 as mentioned above (assuming 15% driveline loss). I was quoting the numbers from memory earlier. I will post the dyno graphs onto the linked website tonight (10/11) for everyone to see.
