Vehicle Detail
- THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION! - Straight '65 Mustang 289 V8 Coupe! The NADA Classic Cars Pricing Guide (JUN10 issue) lists the car between $7,750-$24,300 (price only rises with each issue). *** Starting price is well BELOW the lowest NADA value *** If you're a father & child looking for an easy project (90% complete) with only simple bolt-ons and an easy re-paint, then this is the PERFECT car for you. In it's current condition (Good & Bad listed below), I believe that the low asking price of only $10k is more than reasonable for this classic muscle car. THE GOOD: - RUST FREE, straight and unabused California original car (moved to Colorado a little over 2yrs ago). - Clear title, still registered for California. - Super cean and newer interior in great shape. - New front suspension parts (springs, A-arms, ball joints and bushings) with recent alignment. - I am the third owner. - Awesome exhaust system incorporated into the GT valance. - Original center console in great shape. - Cragar S/S deep dish rims with classic BFGoodrich Radial T/As. - Original 8” real axle. - Shelby Bullet style racing RH/LH door mirrors. - New seals all around. - New carpet, heat and sound deadening insulation padding. - New full-sized spare tire and lug wrench. THE BAD: - Drum brakes all around (old technology which stops just fine, if you plan ahead for the stop). If you choose the BUY IT NOW option, I will include a four-wheel disc brake system upgrade which includes, spindles, rotors, four-piston SSBS front brake calipers with stainless steel braided brake lines, Lincoln Versailles rear disc brakes, new pads, and dual reservoir master cylinder. This system cost me over $1,400 total to put together correctly (pictures included). - Paint is tired. She looks great driving down the road and at 10 feet standing still, but you can tell she needs love when you get real close. Because there are minor blemishes from the paint and nicks from road rocks. It needs a light sanding and re-shoot to a color of your choice. - Not an original A/C car, but can be installed with no problems. - Manual steering (no power assist). I have a new complete power steering system which is included in sale--cost over $900. This system includes the power steering pump, pulley, bracket, reservoir, power steering linkage and hydraulic assist push-ram (pictures included). Bolt-on system that is easy to install. ENGINE: Strong rebuilt 289 (not original) in great condition with about 12k miles, 1yr old starter, Weiand intake manifold, new Edelbrock 650cfm 4bbl carburetor (#1405) with cable-to-foot-pedal linkage, new valve covers, new 8mm performance plug wires with insulators, new water pump, new fuel pump, new battery, new air intake to match the functional BOSS 429 air scoop. TRANSMISSION: Rebuilt C4 cruise-o-matic smooth shifting transmission with about 12k miles. INTERIOR: Brand new ’66 white-faced gauge cluster with the centered 140mph speedo and LED back lighting. This option cost a little over $400. I have the original ’65 gauge cluster indicating the original 48k miles included in sale. Radio delete panel and original center console also included. Additionally, I have the original steering wheel (although it has a crack on the outer ring--otherwise in decent condition as you can see in the picture). EXHAUST: 2½” true dual exhaust system starting with Hooker performance long-tube headers, high-heat temp treated pipes, performance mufflers, and resonator tips exiting the GT rear valance. ADDITIONAL INFO: I believe in honesty in all areas about the car, so I tried to cover everything. Please don't hesitate to contact me with ANY questions. The reason I'm selling the car is that I am very close to loosing my house, so my baby has to go. SHIPPING: Buyer is responsible for pick-up, or shipping and associated shipping charges. DEPOSIT: The winning bidder must make contact within 48 hours of auction end and provide a $500 non-refundable deposit (which will go towards the final payment of the car). Deposit may be paid via certified cashier check, Pay Pal, or cash in person. I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, or sell through any means if deposit is not received within 48 hours of auction end. FINAL PAYMENT: To be worked-out between seller and buyer. The vehicle will not leave my property and possession until all funds have cleared my bank. I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, or sell through any means if final payment of balance is not paid within 10 calendar days after auction end. LEGAL JUNK: This auction is a legal binding contract between Seller and Buyer. As this classic Mustang is for sale locally, seller reserves the right to end the auction at any time. The car is sold as-is, where is, with no warranty, expressed, written or implied. Please, serious bidders only. PLEASE EMAIL QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS BEFORE BIDDING. On Oct-12-10 at 18:36:39 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional note: As you can see in the pictures, there are two holes at the front of the hood. The previous owner (second owner) used to have aluminum hood pins that stuck out of the hood, with chrome trim ring around the hole fastened with four small screws. I didn't like the wires coming out from the grill, so I removed the hood pins.
