Vehicle Detail
Up for auction and photographed below is an incredible restoration of this 1982 Suzuki GS850. It is a project that began in 2006 and came to fruition in 2008. I am selling this for the widow of a friend who recently lost a battle with cancer. The photographs speak volumes as to the condition of this exquisite specimen. Here is a bit of the history of how this magnificent restoration came about. In 2006 the motor, swingarm, front end, wheels, fenders, etc. were removed to paint the frame and begin the build from the frame up. The tank and side covers got a custom paint job (as illustrated in the below photos). The motor got a top end job which included cyl's. bored, new piston kits, new valves (and valve seat grinding), new valve stem seals and, of course, a new top end gasket kit. The carbs were disassembled and the bodies were treated with ultrasonic cleaning. They were then reassembled with new carb kits. The engine side covers have been mirror polished. A windshield was added. More hours were spent chroming and/or polishing and/or locating NOS parts than can be recounted. All critical bearings (swingarm, steering stem, etc.) were replaced as well. The new tires show almost no wear. Just installed a new battery 3 days ago. Also (although not pictured) is an extremely nice back rest/luggage rack combination that will go with the bike. The original owner's manual and Clymer service manual will accompany the sale as well as the original tool kit. The end result is magnificent. Starts, runs, shifts, and stops PERFECTLY! Been looking for an excellent bike that's affordable? Well, THIS IS THE ONE! Although I have tried to be as accurate as possible, both in my description and photos, I strongly encourage any and all questions as all sales are final. I would be happy to email additional photos at the direction and request of any prospective buyer. Bidder's with NEGATIVE or NO feedback must contact seller prior to bidding or your bid may be subject to cancellation. The winning bidder must be able to make arrangments to pick up the bike in Peoria, IL. Delivery, or partial delivery, may also be an option and would be negotiated on a case-by-case basis. Shipping would also be possible and would, of course, be at the expense of the buyer. A $100.00 deposit via Paypal must be received within 24 hours of auction end with the balance of the purchase price due within 7 days of auction end or when the bike is picked up, whichever comes first. Thanks for Looking and Happy Bidding!
