Vehicle Detail

This is a 1978 Mustang King Cobra that has NEVER seen rain or snow. The undercarriage is in perfect condition with the original undercoating. The tires and rims are original. The interior is original with "T" tops and the original 8-Track player. The battery is located in the trunck because it would not fit in the engine bay with the new engine. The car has been stored indoors since I purchased it. Interior: Great condition with no rips or tears. The rear carpeting has some minor sun fading. All original. I did add an oil pressure guage which is mounted in the gauge panel. The map lights work as do all of the interior lights. Overall, I would rate the interior as being in excellent condition. Nothing needs to be replaced. Engine: The original 302 was pulled and a 351W was installed. Here are the specs on the 400+ h.p. engine. YOU WILL NOT FIND THIS ENGINE ALONE FOR LESS THAN 8K. It does have that "popcorn" sound at idle. TRANS: HEAVY DUTY T5 (5 SPEED) TRANS INSTALLED WITH SHORT THROW SHIFTER, NEW CLUTCH (REPLACED WHEN ENGINE WAS INSTALLED). EXTERIOR: Very good confition. It does not have the factory paint. The paint on it is metallic and all of the striping and graphics are painted on. The lower front valance needs attention as does the rear bumber. (I purchased it this way). There are 2 minor scuffs in the front upper grill from when I installed the engine. I have taken this car to many car shows and it turns heads. I have never seen a 1978 King Cobra in this condition. The buck tag was cut out when I installed the new aluminum radiator. Had I known it's importance, I would have kept it. This is a King Cobra and not a clone. If you have any questions, Please feel free to contact me @ 708-217-8298. I do have many more photos of the car. If interested, Please e-mail me. Shipping can be arranged. Please note that a special carrier is needed to get it loaded due to the front lower valance. Payment is required 7 days after the auction has ended. I reserve the right to end this auction early as it is listed locally as well. On Oct-02-10 at 20:45:15 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDED 11/02/2010 Car comes with cover and I have additional parts for the car that have never been installed that will go with it as well. I have been getting e-mails and calls for more photos. I added more today. If there is a particular photo you would like to see, please let me know and I will do my best to get it. One of the photos is of the rear underside of the car which shows the original undercoating with no rust. I tried to get a picture of the undercarriage but ran out of time. It is very clean with the exception of dust and a few spider webs.
