1977 CB 550K "Cafe Racer" conversion by owner. It has had the following modifications made to it: Keihin CR29 round slide racing carburetors with velocity stacks and custom black nylon "booties" to clean the airflow. MAC 4 into 1 exhaust system Clubman style handlebars Hand formed alloy "CR750" style tank and seat with removable seat cushion LESTER 19" front and 18" rear wheels, hand sanded and painted silver, Vintage style "DURO"tires have approx 200 miles on them. Lucas style tailight setup with integral license plate frame A123 mini battery with custom "bare bones" electrical system, 3 toggle switches (start, lights on/off, and hi/low beam) The wheels received new All Balls bearings when installed, a new alloy rear sprocket from Sprocket Specialists (37 tooth) with a Nickel plated530 Sapphire/Diamond chain and a new 15 tooth (2 teeth smaller than stock) front sprocket. These wheels were for a 750, and therefore have an additional bearing in the rear housing. In other words, it is overbuilt for this application, and super sturdy! Custom 2 1/4 dia gauges have been installed, along with a new tach cable, and new clutch and throttle cables, and 70's style grips and EMGO mirrors Progressive front shocks and 13.5 inch EMGO black & chrome rear shocks made for a CB900 have been fitted to the rear. A silver suspension damper has been isntalled with an alloy bracket tying it to the forks the rear drum brake plate has been drilled for ventilation to deal with hard braking. The front rotor has also been drilled Please note....this is not a new sportbike. It is a 33 year old Honda that has been modified to harken back to the days of vintage style racing bikes, with a English "cafe racer" flare. The bike is sold "as-is" with no warranty either expressed nor implied. I do not "need" to sell the bike, but will sell it for the price shown. If you want a bike that is different than the rest, this might be the bike for you. I hand sanded the engine in the frame and polished it by hand. I removed many brackets on the frame...cleaning and painting as I went. This bike is NOT for touring.....it is now... after the work done VERY light, VERY nimble....it goes where you point it, and LOVES to rev......VERY hungry for rev's and corners. It is old enough, that this along with the mods made has developed alot of character. This is a vintage cafe racer/enthusiasts bike....needing an owner with a love and understanding of mechanics to really enjoy it.
