Vehicle Detail
British Racing Green 1975 Triumph TR6. Purchased last year and garaged since ownership here in NJ. After Met and VW projects were finished, I was moving onto this TR6 to start the restoration this fall, however I found a 1976 Triumph further along in the restoration process and decided to purchase that vehicle and sell this one. Upon getting the '75 home last year I removed most of the carpet and did a cleanup inside and out. I drained the oil and relaced with new oil and Marvel Mystery Oil. At the time of my purchase I was told the car sat for 5 years in Pa., and the inspection sticker was from 2005. When I cleaned the car, I removed those Pa. stickers as in NJ antique cars do not need to be inspected. The Title I hold states 57,000 miles, the odometer 66,018. The previous owner stated that when he filed for the Title, he gave the Pa. DMV 57,000. Vin numbers match. I have not tried to start the car or do any mechanical work to it. I was just going to send it to a local British Car specialist but with the other car coming in, this one will have to go to a new owner. Pictures should show the condition. Some other items...the car is missing the sun visors, the driver's side window does not go up and I did not want to force-it remains down. The trunk does not latch when closing. Please see pics; the car will need floorboards and driver's side rocker, possibly other rocker as well. Frame looks solid though. The car was repainted at one time although I do not know history on this, as Triumph people know, the rear is usually black and has been painted green. Car shifts through the gears. I have a good reputation with Ebay and want to keep it that way and will provide an honest showing of the car so there will be no disappointments. If you want a TR6 project for the fall and winter this might be the one for you. If you want to inspect the car PRIOR to the end of the bid, please let me know. All questions will be answered, however I am not a mechanic or Triumph expert. Full payment by Bank Check and clearance, then the car and Title are yours. As the other car is coming in, I cannot store this vehicle and will want the new owner to be responsive with payment and pick up. After the bid, please do not tell me you want to come to the house and pay in cash, then pick apart the car or tell me your life's problems...simply cannot have that. Please email with any questions. The reserve is set at approx. $1,000.00 less than what I paid for the car and is very fair. Good Luck. On Oct-01-10 at 17:10:20 PDT, seller added the following information: There was a question about the top, so I opened it up, did a light cleaning and took some pictures. There is one snap missing on the passenger side and a cut as shown on the drivers side. Since it has probably been closed for some time, I did not force the top to close and lock it in. It's in much better shape than I thought. Please see pics, thanks.
