Vehicle Detail
1977 MGB Convertible. Bought from second owner who drove the car daily until the brakes went bad. He stored the car under roof for 17 years and I brought it from him. The car was not a rust bucket and was not in terrible condition. I restored the car most of the way and it is a nice car and runs very well. It drives well and has a ton of new parts on it. I have the reciepts for about $2500 in new stuff. The top is extremely good but needs stitched around the back window, and has the boot and full tonneau cover, which is rare. The only thing that needs done to make the car look really good is to recover the front driver seat. The paint and body work are decent but there are some fish eyes in the paint that could probably be polished out. None of this is necessary but to make the car perfect, I would do it. The car looks new and drives extremely well. Everything in the inside works well including the clock. The interior is extremely good. Paint is brand new and there is very little putty in this car. Any rust was replaced with new metal. Tires are brand new as well as the entire brake system, battery and other parts. Parts replaced are: Battery Brake Rotors Brake drums Pads and shoes Brake cylinders Brake lines Drums turned Master cylinder rebuilt Power Brakes Clutch master cylinder rebuilt New clutch slave cylinder Heater control valve Gas tank cleaned and coated All new gas lines New electric fuel pump Carb rebuild Most coolant hoses replaced. Transmission serviced Engine flushed 3 times and oil changed New valve cover gaskets Valves adjusted New tune up Some new carpet – remaining in good condition Trunk painted with spatter paint Wheels sandblasted and painted with special paint. Brand new tires with less than 100 miles New air filter New cooling fan Engine cleaned and coated – looks like new Bumpers recoated with special paint. Car painted with hardened paint. New lug nuts New stereo and speakers All new chrome New emblems New wiper blades (3) Many more items I did to make car dependable. Car looks and runs very good. No problems except: Do not have keys for doors – cheap to fix Have not replaced the windshield wiper sprayer motor yet - $15. This is a very good car and I think you will love it. It is a ton of fun and does not leak, misfire of have any electrical problems. This is important!!! This is a 35 year old car and looks nice and runs nice. It IS NOT brand new or a $30,000 restoration but is as nice as any others I have seen on the street. The body work is decent, with all rust being replaced with metal. The car was completely sealed before painting and the paint is good, has some fish eyes in it but looks great in general. There is nothing that I know of wrong with this car that is not listed. It drives well, steering does not pull, brake system, tires, clutch hydraulics, body panels and battery are all new, along with any other part that I could replace to make this car dependable. When you buy this car, it is yours and there is no warranty. The oil pressure is about 40-50 psi at idle and the car does a nice job for me. I am very explicit about this car because a great guy bought this car and was driving it home over 200 miles and one of the two radiator hoses I did not replace broke and we had to replace it. His wife hated this car from the onset because it did not have A/C and she did not know that from the start. After the hose broke and she was so irate, I gave them a refund and brought the car home. We fixed the hose and the car is fine again. I want you to know that this is a good car but when you buy it, it is yours. It has lots of miles on it, not sure of miles on the engine but it has been replaced. It makes slight solid lifter noise like they all do. It runs well, drives well, looks great and is a great value. Just want everyone to know there are no refunds so look it over well.
