Vehicle Detail

1959 Mercedes Benz 220S W180 Ponton Sedan This1959 Mercedes 220S Ponton was purchased new in Eugene Oregon and then was purchased by a prominent Oregon Collector from the original owner in 1975. The meticulous collector then replaced all rubber, glass, plastic lenses, interior, chrome, and had the car painted. In 2000 the car was acquired by Mike Burback and maintained regularly by Burback motors here in Portland Oregon and comes with extensive records dating back to 1972-74 and 2002 –present. I make sure I represent cars as clearly as possible. I have noted below details to give an accurate representation of the car. This is a true honest car that has been in the care of restoration professionals since 1975. To get any of your questions answered or talk in detail about any areas of the car please call (Mike 503-236-1737). Car has a clean US title: VIN#1800100119501678 Miles: car shows 43,287 miles on the odometer and it had 37,000 on it when the collector bought it in 1975, there is no way to verify if it has turned over or not. 6 cylinders 4 speed manual Paint/Body The paint is nice and on a scale from (1-10) it is an 8, the front of the car between the headlamps and the grill on both sides has rock chips and there are a few star crazes in the paint on the top of all four fenders, they are small and you need to be up close to see them. There is no rust on this car and the body panels are all in great condition. It has full spare, jack, tools and trunk mats. I have taken photos of the trunk with and without mats to show the condition. The car was painted in 1975 and has been well maintained. Interior Interior is complete and restored with new padding as the seats have been re-done, original radio, dash wood is very good (not show quality), carpet is great. All knobs are there and work as they should. The doors had new shielding but into them during the restoration. The interior was restored by a world renowned Oregon restoration shop Steve’s Auto restorations (SAR). Chrome The chrome is in exceptional shape and close to show quality, on a scale from (1-10) it is an 8.5. There are a few scratches on the chrome below the driver door and the front right turn signal that keep it from being perfect. All the door handles have some pitting on the top of them. The rims are in good shape. Glass All the glass is in perfect condition, no cracks or chips. Rearview mirrors are not stained. All plastic lenses are in perfect shape, the front and rear turn signals look factory new and they should as most of the parts that went on this car during restoration were NOS parts. Rubber is in good condition and holding up well since replaced by NOS parts 35 years ago. Motor / Mechanicals The car runs strong and has recently had a thorough inspection/new breaks etc…The car is located at www.burbackmotors.com Mike has been servicing this car for 10 years and can answer any questions in detail about the mechanics of the car. (503-236-1737). Payment Details I will contact the winning bidder via email after the auction ends. Please note - given the age and uniqueness of this car all sales are final.
