Vehicle Detail
I'm Selling my 1966 Ponitac GTO. Its a true 242 code GTO with factory air conditioning and PHS Documentation. It has an early 70's 400BB tied to a 400 Turbo transmission, I will also include a year correct 2-speed Power Glide transmission if you want to return it to original equipment. It sits on 15inch Rally II's with new tires and is currently located in Surry County, VA. If you would like to see a video of a walk around and hear it run then paste this and click go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ple9xIa25Iw or type in "'66 GTO exhaust and walk around" on you tube. I bought the car from Muscle Cars and Handle Bars in Orlando FL back in January of 2008 while I lived in Miami. They got the car as an incomplete resto on trade-in and had done all the body work but nothing much else. Since then I've replaced or repaired ALL of the wiring with the exception of the dash harness and reverse lights, correctly fixed the drum brakes (they were in perfect shape but put back together wrong), placed new convertible springs and gas adjust shocks in the rear, and a number of other smaller repairs around the vehicle. It runs with Royal Purple 10w30. She starts every time and I've driven her to D.C. and back several times without a problem. She's my baby and I normally wouldn't sell her, but I'm getting married soon and need the money for it. The car does still have a few minor issues. The engine and tranny started leaking a few months back from the pan gaskets, Ive got a new oil pan gasket for the engine, but haven't put it in yet. The carburetor could use a cleaning and the engine bay could use some detailing for your car show nights. The carpet is complete but fading is due for replacement, and the sail panels need replacement ( I have new sail panels too, just haven't installed them) but the rest of the interior is pretty good. The reverse lights don't work, and the horns aren't hooked up. The A/C works like it should, but needs a recharge to blow cold instead of cool. This is not a show car, I drive her daily for weeks at a time when the weather is good. The paint is very good and year correct, with the exception of one rust bubble at the drivers side base of the rear windshield, and the chrome is passable but a lot of it could use to be re-chromed. The car is for sale locally, and it is the buyers responsibility to arrange pickup and or shipping. You can come by and drive her home if needed. The title is clear with a lien on it through USAA, and they will next day it to you when the car is sold. Payment will be due immediately with a $1000 deposit to cover listing and prep fees. Please ask if you have any questions, I'll try to answer them as soon as possible. Happy bidding! Edit: I uploaded the Data Plate and the PHS build papers that came with the car. Enjoy!
