2000 SUBARU LEGACY OUTBACK WAGON - NO RESERVE Please note. It is customary for eBay vehicle sale listings to start out with information about the vehicle and then, somewhere near the bottom of the listing, one finds the rules and procedures associated with that specific sale. It has been my experience in more than a decade of both buying and selling on eBay, that many people stop reading before they reach the end of the listing. Therefore, I've decided to spell out the "fine print" first, and then deal with the actual information about the car. The last time I sold a vehicle on eBay, the high bidder was someone brand new to eBay and did not understand anything of how an eBay auction worked. I had a similar thing happen with a car I sold a few years ago. In both cases this caused me a delay of a number of weeks to deal with the high bidder who was unwilling or unable to pay and then relisting on eBay. It also caused legitimate bidders to lose out. In other words, the normally smooth auction process did not go smoothly at all for anyone involved. As such, it is with great reluctance that I state that if you have an eBay Feedback rating of less than 3, you must contact me through eBay's internal email system with your name, address and phone number. I will then contact you with an OK to bid. Failure to do so will result in your bid being cancelled. Before bidding, be sure you have read, fully understand and are able to comply with the deposit and payment requirements as well as timelines regarding payment and pick up of the vehicle. Your bid acknowledges that you have read, fully understand, can and will fully comply. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 7 days of auction end. Paypal is for deposit only, not for entire amount of winning bid. Make sure if financing, that your financial institution will finance a 2000 Subaru Outback with 112313 miles on it. Have your financing in place and approved before bidding. Failure to pay the balance due within 7 days will result in forfeiture of the deposit and the vehicle will be re-listed, sold to the under bidder, or otherwise disposed of. Only cash (in person), and bank checks are acceptable for payment. Personal and business checks will not be accepted. Buyer is responsible for pick up of this vehicle within 7 days of auction end. You will need to schedule an appointment to pick up your car. If you plan on flying into the Detroit area to pick up the car I can arrange to have the car near Detroit Metropolitan Airport. If you need a temporary tag, you will have to arrive during normal business hours. We will then go to the Michigan Secretary of State office together and complete the sale. The buyer is responsible for any and all fees charged at the Secretary of State's office. Go to their website and/or telephone them to be sure about fees. If you plan on having your purchased shipped, I will be happy to deliver the car to a Detroit area hauler depot/terminal at no charge which can significantly reduce your shipping cost. Terminal to terminal is much cheaper than door to door. The vehicle must be paid for in full before I deliver it to your shipper. I am not a dealer. This is a private party sale. I charge no "document fees" as most dealers do. I cannot arrange financing, offer any warranties etc. If you need or expect such services, you would do well to either arrange them yourself, or not bid on this car. Allow me to introduce you to Matilda. Matilda is a 2000 Subaru Outback wagon. We bought Matilda from an elderly gentleman just shy of three years ago. It was our first experience with a Subaru, but definitely not our last. After a couple of winters with Matilda and her All Wheel Drive, my wife now wants nothing other than a Subaru for her daily driver. She says that Matilda is the most sure-footed car she has ever owned. In fact, last spring she got a 2009 Subaru Outback and our daughter acquired Matilda. Two weeks ago, our daughter moved to New York City to start a new job and in short order discovered that the heart of New York City is not a great place to be a car owner. I retrieved Matilda but we really don't need the car anymore so it is time for Matilda to move on. Matilda is a great car in all kinds of weather. On one occasion we came home late at night to an unplowed driveway with a foot of new fallen snow. We happily ran Matilda up the drive and into the garage. Looking back out at the drive we discovered that not only had the car driven effortlessly up the unplowed drive, but it had even plowed some of the snow with its front bumper and the car's undercarriage. It is equally surefooted in the rain and even on icy roads. Matilda is equipped with almost every possible option available. The only exceptions we've found are a sunroof and leather seats, neither of which we really wanted. Having heated cloth seats is fantastic in both winter and summer. I could go on and on about all the options, but it is easier to provide a list. Matilda has a matched set of Kelly Navigator Gold 225-60 R16 97S tires with 70 - 75% tread left. Brakes were redone recently. Also replaced were the coil, the accessory belts, and belt idler. Matilda does not use nor leak any fluids. The air conditioner blows ice cold air. In fact, I cannot recall anything that does not work as it should. Matilda will come with its owner’s manual, two remotes and five door keys. Matilda is not a new car. There are some minor issues one should be aware of. There are some minor parking lot dings and stone bruises around the car. There are some scratches on the right front bumper cover [see picture]. They can be easily touched up and since the bumper cover is plastic, there is no rust issue associated with the scratches. There is a spot on the rear of the roof that has been touched up. It looks like someone slipped while unloading a ladder or a kayak from the roof [see picture]. There is some paint wear on the door sill of the driver's side. The previous owner had a hard time getting around and dragged his foot over the spot when entering and exiting the car. Again, it is an easily touched up plastic item [see interior driver's door pic]. The check engine light is flaky. Sometimes it is on and sometimes it is off. Today, it was off. The OBD II reads 0240: Catalytic converter exceeds threshold. This has never affected how the car runs. It has never been important to me as Michigan does not have emissions testing. Finally, the Subaru floor mats are some of the most durable mats available and Matilda's are no exception. The mats are barely worn and have done an excellent job [see interior pics] of protecting the carpets. The rear mats look new and the front passenger mat is in fine condition. The driver's mat is in need of a deep cleaning, but is not worn out. They will be included and you can use them or not. If you are not sure about something, Please email me.
