Vehicle Detail

All Original 1983 VT750C Honda Shadow! The Honda Shadow was one of the best designed cruiser motorcycles that every came from Honda. In the year 1983, the first line of Shadow came out. This bike that I am selling is from the first year of Honda Shadows built. The 750cc engine on this bike was only built for this year of Shadows during the early 1980’s. I bought this bike approximately a year and a half ago. The bike was well cared for and is running shape when the time came when I bought it. The seller told me that there was only one prior owner before him. When I bought the bike had approximately 25,000 miles on it. For over 25 years the amount of miles on the bike was a great selling point for me purchasing the bike in the first place. PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BEFORE BIDDING. PROS: The bike has 27,390 miles as of this moment, and I don’t plan on riding very much at all before being sold. The engine is still in great shape. I had the engine check by a bike mechanic about a year ago and he said the engine is still in great shape. The transmission works well in every gear from 1st to OD. The bike, being a 749cc, has tons of power for a cruiser and will take two people for a good ride with little effort. The bike just had a new battery put into it. These batteries are expensive, running up to a $100.00 for a new battery, so you’re getting a deal with a new battery. The tread on the tires are still in great condition and so are the rims with no noticeable wear marks from age. Most of the aluminum on the bike has been recently cleaned and polished. The seats are in perfect shape, with no tears or rips in neither the main seat nor the passenger seat. The bike recently got a new air filter; fuel filter and oil filter and also had its oil change before the riding season. There is minimal rusting on the frame on the bike because of always being inside. The saddle bags are in good shape and are included in this auction. The bikes exaust has some dents in the chrome mufflers, but nothing that affects the bikes performance in anyway. The bikes front forks are still in great shape and the rear springs are also in great shape. The bikes shaft drive has been kept well oiled with gear oil, and all its necessary maintenance has been never neglected. CONS: The bike runs great WHEN carbs are adjusted right. The bike does run good though, I rode it about 3 days ago for about 10 miles and it ran without hesitation. I removed the carbs last year to clean them, and when I put them back on the bike, the performance hasn't been exactly like it was before I removed the carbs. The bike is missing one of its side panels. The exact panel that is missing is the left one. I lost the panel awhile ago by riding it and the wind taking it off without me noticing. The tank has been painted so it’s not the original paint job, but it was painted pretty well. There are some minor dings to the paint of the gas tank, but nothing serious, barely noticeable at all. The last con about the bike is the antifreeze pipes, the pipes do leak and require new O-rings to be installed and the pipes to be set again. Also the bike is SOLD AS IS FAQ 1. Will the bike run with the antifreeze pipes leaking? Yes, the bike will run will with the antifreeze pipes leaking, but only short term, (Short Term: less than 20 miles depending on environmental conditions and riding conditions 2. How much will it cost to fix the antifreeze pipes from leaking? Well I’m not a mechanic, so I honestly don’t know. I took the bike to a bike mechanic a month ago and he told me it was a simple fix, but he didn’t have the time to fix it. 3. How bad do the pipes leak? Enough that it’s a problem if you want to ride for long distance. 4. What exactly are wrong with the carbs? Well as you can see from the question, it has more than one carburetor. The carburetor unit is compiled of two separate carburetors, one for each cylinder. The dual-carb idea was better than single for every reason except for tuning. The carburetors have to be set actually the same in every way or the bike won’t run at its best performance. I don’t have the tools and the time that a bike mechanic has to get the carburetors to be exactly to be the same. ALSO INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION: Saddle bags: good shape Shop Manual Title of the Bike PAYMENT AND SHIPPING: The bike is located in the city of Shelby, Ohio and I prefer the buyer come to pick it up.
