Vehicle Detail
This is my 1969 Chevelle that I helped my dad buy when I was a teenager. I drove it from 1987 to 1993. In 1993, the breaks started to go out. I was headed of to college and didn't have the time or money to complete the repair so I put it in my dad's garage. And there it sat. For 16 years it sat in my dad's garage and was forgot as I graduated from school, got married and started a family. About a year ago my brother said that I ought to do something with my Chevelle and moved it to my home where I put it in my garage. I had thoughts of restoring it but I have a 3 year old boy and I would rather spend my time and money on him. So, I present to you my 1969 Chevelle for sale. Details are as follows: ***The wheels DO NOT come with the car. They belong to my older brother and are not for sale, he wants them back**** The carburetor is not in the photos, it is currently in the back seat....Holly 750. The car has not been started in about 17 years. I have much of a new black interior kit, with weather stripping, that was intended for a 1969 Chevelle convertible that I had at one time. I don't know how much of it will fit the Chevelle for sale but the interior kit comes with the car. The kit is in the original boxes, they haven't been opened in almost 20 years, I have no idea of the condition of the interior kit. I have a set of new (20 years ago) TRW front springs for this car that are big block springs. The original engine was a small block so I bought new big block springs to go the the big block engine. They have never been installed. I have 2 spare doors from a 1969 Chevelle convertible that come with this car, if wanted. The car needs restored, is in rough shape as it has sat for many years in a garage. Mice and my dog had their way with the interior. Mice are gone, so is the dog. As you can see from the pictures, bodywork and paint are required. The transmission is a TH400. It was rebuilt and installed in about 1991. It has about two years of driving on it but like I said, the car hasn't been started in about 17 years. The engine is a 396 out of a 1969 Impala. It was rebuilt in 1991, has about two years driving on it. You may notice the driver's side fender is not the same color as the rest of the car. When I was in the Army, my younger brother did the honor or wrecking it for me. He was fine as it was a minor crash, the frame was not damaged, I just replaced the fender. There is some damage to the area where the headlight is installed but I still drove it for several months after I returned home. Again... ***The wheels DO NOT come with the car. They belong to my older brother and are not for sale, he wants them back**** You will need to tow or flatbed this car, it will not start and/or drive. You will be required to supply your own wheels/tires. I have had thoughts over the last year of restoring it but like I said, I have a wonderful 3 year old boy that is the center of my life now and I would rather spend my time and money on him. If you have any questions, please ask. Thank you. ***EDIT*** I have added several pictures as a request was made for more information about the condition of the area around the cowl and front/back glass as relates to rust. The area around front/rear glass has some minor rust, I used sandpaper to clean it up to make as clear as possible the extent of the rust. One picture of the back glass area has a piece of paper covering the glass/trim; this is because I had kept geting glare off the trim/glass when I tried to take the picture. I added a closer picture of the area driver's side front fender as I made mention of my brother banging up that fender when I was in the Army. I discovered that the driver's side tail lamp housing was in worse condition that I had previously noticed. I posted a close picture of this and adjusted the opening bid and buy it now to reflect this discovery. Thank you.
