Vehicle Detail

Here we have one of the 810 w-30 coupes made in 1971. This car retains its original numbers matching vin stamped block. Along with the transmission with its correct rivited tag on the side showing 71 OW. The motor has the H heads with 409 160 casting #'s on them. The carb is a 7041257. Intake is original and not a reproduction. distributor from what I can read is a 1112032. Motor and trans run great, perform well and transmission will chirp the tires in second gear. Rear is a posi 3:23 with the SS code stamped on the axle tube. I only know the cars history from the mid 80's to now. Being a missouri car all its life it was bought off a used car lot as the car is seen today. The guy who bought it owned it about 5 years and sold it to his brother. The brother took the engine and trans out, and rebuilt them both. The motor was done .030 over, a better cam put in hardened seats etc. Trans was also gone through and is clean and dry. At that time the engine bay was detailed along with some detail to the floor pans which are perfectly smooth and rust free. The partial broadcast sheet with the w-30 stamp on it and 930 (for black bucket interior) was found in the bottom of the rear seat. The remainder of the interior has not been taken out to hunt for anymore sheets. This is a lansing built car as all w cars should be. The original fender braces are still in the car as well as THE original red inner fenderwells which are in real nice shape. The hood is crack and damage free. The rear trunklid and wing were added/changed before car was bought in the 80's. Trunk pan is solid and has remains of the original felt backed mat still stuck to it. Car will need weatherstrips as they are all original to the car. The trunk one even still has the 2 colored stripes on it so they new which way to put it on at the factory! Car is best described as a 2 footer. The paint in the sun sparkles and shines great but has some age crazing along the roof, hood and trunklid. It is not noticeable until you bent over to look close at it. original w-30 stripe overspray from the factory can be seen in one of the door jamb pictures. The driver side fender bottom and passenger side rear quarter has some bubbles starting. The car has all its original sheet metal on it as my investigating has shown minus the trunklid. The car could be used as a real nice driver or an easy project that would not take much to bring up to a perfect level. Car runs tight front end was rebuilt fully in 2000 when motor was out. It doesn't wander rattle make noise anything when cruising 75 mph + on the highway. Car has factory ralleye pack, sport wheel working am-fm with a great working 8 track to go with. And this summer the car has not overheated in 90 degree weather with the ice cold a/c blasting. It is still r-12, was recharged years ago and still works great. Interior is all original from headliner to carpet. Door panels has speakers put in the carpet long ago and some chrome is peeling around the wood grain. dash trim bead needs replacing as it it cracked. No dash cracks or warping. Interior is real nice and would not have to be replaced for a restoration except for the few mentioned items. Car is advertised locally and I reserve the right to end auction at any time. Please no tire kickers. The price is more than half of what this car would bring restored at auction.
