Vehicle Detail
This Car was originally purchased by my cousin. She drove it for about 5 years and gave it to her brother. He drove it , and being the handyman that he is, messed up the wiring, lost the hard top and title and parked(garaged) it his Mom's house in 1982. Mom sold the house about five years ago- so it sat for twenty some years. He gave it to me- I sent it to a friend's house and it sat some more- The good things that were done then- Rear axle pulled and axle seals replaced. Floorpans cut out and replaced and undercoated . New 3/4' dual mastercylinder installed SU carbs were redone and vacuum balanced at Cherry Hill Toyota Paint stripped and bodywork done everything is straight (startin up again- bubbled around rear wheel wells.) New soft top about a year and a half ago- I lose the garage and the car comes back in primer- hence the rather ugly paint job- I shot some red on it, but never shot the clear cost over it. I wanted a darker, almost burgundy color, so I never shot the clear coat- I know how to paint- theres no runs or anything and a quart will paint almost two of these cars It's worse than the pics- All guages work, runs perfect(well, the vacuum line needs to be hooked up )- has a lot of parts- trim, moldings and a box of stuff like the radio in a box in the shed- The bid is about 60% of parting it out- I'm hoping someone somebody will finish it up as a nice little sportscar- I'm never gonna have the time to do it *Now the other Things! 1) except for the front brand new , hard to find muffler- there's no exhaust system. 2) The last time the car was titled was in Arkansas-1980 Pre computer? pretty easy to title. 3) It will need a windshield- you can get them for $179 at glass distributors- I checked To make it look really sharp for listing- I hosed it off. And started it for the first time in about eight months. Tires are shot too. It wouldn't cost alot to get this car really nice-, not original showcar nice, I was gonna pull some good lookin seats at a junkyard for $100 That last pic is the replaced passenger floor pan- little surface rust, but undercoated underneath Here's my breakdown to make it a fun driver, cost wise Good paint & Clear- $180- IF you know how to paint- If not, but a pro topload airless on Ebay for $60 and start painting cardboard til you learn- Tires- $200( tires are cheap for this car) Windshield and gasket $200 Seats$100 DASHPAD replacement Ebay again- Black is $80( use that insulating foam in a can SPEARINGLY to adhere, better to put in too little and pull it off than have it oozing out around the gauges Exhaust at Midas- $150 already have the expensive part All the locks, door handles, trim are there- wanna make $200? Sell the original Stainless body trim, I never liked it and filled the holes. Splurge and get some fancy rims - any Z series- practically all four bolt Toyota rims fit- $200 You'll either have to pay some one to sort out the wiring- right now, I bypassed everything so all the lights are on-( it's as complicated as a standard lawn tractor) everything like turn signals and Hi/low beam work, I stopped working on the car- Too much overtime, not enough work on the car time. So- for $1000 & cost of car you have a nice little convertible. And I'll get a good 175- 200 HP Mercury or Yamaha for my boat- consider trade IF good running motor, all electronics included- nothing older than 1989, 25" lower unit. Let me know if you have any questions or need additional pictures- OH here's a tip- if you put new batteries in your camera, reset the date- some of these shots which are a couple days ago are marked 1/1/2007On Sep-11-10 at 09:02:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Splurge and get some fancy rims- practically all four bolt DATSUN rims fit- $200On Sep-12-10 at 04:11:29 PDT, seller added the following information: I've added the front interior pic, spotless, eh? All that was either getting covered or replaced On Sep-17-10 at 12:05:17 PDT, seller added the following information: I'm too lazy to cancel these less than ten bidders, if you have less than ten transactions, email me before bidding- and yes, I will try to get some more pics up tomorrow , been driving it in the yard around the house-Whee!
