Vehicle Detail
j.bavarianbmw store This is my 1985 535i BMW E28. I am an eBay/online seller of strictly BMW parts, and a serious BMW enthusiast and she has been my pride and joy. She was special ordered in December 1984 from a dealership in Georgia as a European delivery. Not from me obviously! Have the original owners manual to prove it. Paint code # 199 Burgundy red and beige interior. A very, very rare color for a 535i. From there I do not know where she went, but I found her in a poor state sitting under a tree last fall. I have brought her back to life and need to sell her on. I have moved and no longer have a garage to keep her in in the winter. This gem deserves the respect of being inside!! She has not seen snow or been driven in the rain since I have taken possession. A true Sunday driver for the seasons! Bilstein Sport shocks all the way around with lowered springs. BOSCH design III fuel injectors New plug wires New Distributor cap New Rotor BOSCH WR9LS spark plugs. Red Line Synthetic manual gear oil and differential oil used. New Clutch slave cylinder The sway bar links front to back and lower control arms are only a year old. New pitman arms ("dog bones") She comes with two sets of tires/wheels. Summer and winter. You will see the winter tires with only approximately 2,000 miles on them in the photos. The other wheel set has Yokohama's with good tread left. NOT one "dummy" light on in this car! NOT one drop of oil underneath her. Yes the on-board computer (OBC) works! The front and rear bumpers (diving boards) have been tucked. She will need a new thermostat (not a huge thing since the thermostat housing is very simple to get to). Then I was planning to replace the sway bar bushings front and back. (I will include these parts in the sale!) I would have the paint job buffed out professionally too. But these are things I would do... Who of you will continue to restore her as I have begun it? I know she would love to have a new paint job. (The one she has is a re-spray and not up to my standards) The ONLY reason she will not take a sticker is the rocker panel rust on the left side by the rear door ( I am a parts dealer not a body man!). She is an antique in my state with the proper plates, no inspection needed! She has a 5-speed, good strong clutch. Mileage is 173,015 with a rebuilt motor done at 90,000.The engine in this car is smooth smooth smooth all the way past 6000 rpms. How fast does she go?? Like stink in an elevator!! Thank you for looking everyone. Any questions? Ask away! - James This is the one BMW everyone stares at as I drive around town! On Sep-10-10 at 05:39:10 PDT, seller added the following information: I have forgotten to mention the gasket between the fuel tank and fuel tank fill nozzle needs replacement. I will add this to the parts I am offering in the sale. Never given me any problems, I just never filled it more than 3/4 full of fuel. If your a hardcore enthusiast like I am, then this is something you seen before! I would also like to mention that her manual transmission oil and differential oil have been recently (within 2000 miles) changed. I only use synthetic Red line. The motor however, as much as I love synthetic oils still uses conventional oil. I choose not to change it over since the car was running smooth with no leaks and to change over to synthetic after it's been using conventional oil can cause leaks......sometimes. I use Castrol high mileage in accordance with the owners manual for my climate. So far we have for parts in the sale; front sway bar bushings rear sway bar bushings fuel tank fill gasket new Mann air filter new Mann oil filter new Mann fuel filter All included with this sale. Get you off on the right start! For those of you who want to pick it up and drive her home I have added the oil filter so you can change it after the trip.
