FOR SALE IS MY 1966 MUSTANG K CODE FASTBACK, I STATE IN THE HEADING THAT IT IS A GT, THAT IS BECAUSE I CAN STILL SEE THE PIGTAIL COMING THRU THE FIREWALL FOR THE FOG LIGHTS, I HAVE NO WAY TO VERIFY THIS AS THE BUCK TAG AND DOOR TAG ARE MISSING. IT IS A FOUR SPEED CAR. I PURCHASED THIS CAR ABOUT 10 YRS AGO, PICKED IT UP IN MASS. TOWED IT TO MY FRIENDS HOUSE AND PUT IT IN HIS GARAGE WHERE IT REMAINED UNTIL ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO, THE CAR HAS BEEN STARTED HERE AND THERE OVER THE YEARS. I HAVE NOT ROAD TESTED THE CAR, TODAY I STARTED IT AND TOOK IT DOWN MY DRIVEWAY (ABOUT 400 FT.) I NOTICED THE RIGHT REAR BRAKE STOPPING FIRST BUT AGAIN, THE CAR HASN'T BEEN DRIVEN IN YEARS. THE ENGINE SEEMS STRONG, IT APPEARS TO BE A HIPO K CODE ENGINE, I PULLED ONE OF THE VALVE COVERS A FEW YEARS AGO AND IT HAS THE HIPO HEADS, THE BALANCER, THE HIPO ALT. PULLEY, A DEALER SHELBY COBRA KIT MUST HAVE BEEN PURCHASED YEARS AGO AS THE VALVE COVERS HAVE BUDDY BAR INSIDE AND I AM SURE THE OIL PAN IS THE SAME. IT HAS BF GOODRICH TIRES IN NICE SHAPE, I HAVE NO IDEA IF THE COBRA TAC IS AN ORIGINAL SHELBY. THE DISTRIBUTOR IS NOT THE ORIGINAL BUT I HAVE AN NOS ONE IN THE BOX FOR THE CAR, IT IS MISSING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE UNDER THE DASH, I HAVE ONE I THINK IS NOS I WILL THROW IN. I THINK THE CAR WAS AN ORIGINAL RED ON RED CAR AS I FOUND SOME RED ON THE HINGES IN THE TRUNK, I ALSO SPOTTED A LITTLE RED UNDER THE STEERING COLUMN. THE PANS SEEM TO BE OK. BUT AGAIN, YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT THE CAR YOURSELF. THE CAR IS A 15 FOOTER, IT LOOKS GREAT FROM THAT DISTANCE, BUT UP CLOSE YOU CAN SEE THE OK JOB ON THE QUARTERS AND DOOR FIT. IT HAS SOME BUBBLING ON THE WINDSHIELD PILLARS AND ALONG THE REAR EDGE OF THE DECK LID, IT ALSO HAS A SPOT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR. I HAVE ALSO TAKEN PICS OF THE COWL AREA UNDER THE HOOD WHERE IT LOOKS LIKE THE CAR WAS HIT IN THE FRONT AT ONE TIME AND THEY JUST DID A CRAPPY JOB STRAIGHTENING THE AREA WHERE THE SUPPORTS BOLT TO THE COWL. THE INTERIOR IS ACTUALLY PRETTY NICE. THE TRUNK IS OK, COULD USE SOME DETAILING, I NOTICED A SMALL PIN HOLE.. THE ENGINE RUNS GOOD WITH NO SMOKE BUT SEEMS TO HAVE A VIBRATION IN IT AND I NOTICED THE CLUTCH HAS SOME SHAKE TO IT, PROBABLY FROM SITTING SOOOOO LONG, THE VIBRATION MAY BE FROM THAT, AND YES, YOU CAN HEAR THE SOLID LIFTERS. IT APPEARS TO HAVE THE ORIGINAL 9" REAR, I DON'T KNOW THE RATIO. THE FRAME RAILS SEEM TO BE OK, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE YEARS OF JACKING IT UP AND NO BODY PAYING ATTENTION HAS TAKEN ITS TOLL (BENT UP) I HAVE TAKE QUITE A FEW PICTURES BUT I DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO JACK IT UP AND REALLY CHECK IT OUT, THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE MUCH RUST AT ALL. IF YOU ARE SERIOUS I WOULD SUGGEST YOU COME AND TAKE A LOOK YOURSELF. SOME PREVIOUS OWNER ACTUALLY WENT AS FAR AS TO ADD THE SIDE SCOOPS AND MAKE THEM FUNCTIONAL WITH THE BRAKE COOLER HOSES, THE CAR HAS A FIBERGLASS HOOD ALSO ALONG WITH THE FIBERGLASS R VALANCE. ALL IN ALL I DON'T THINK MUCH WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE TO MAKE IT A NICE DRIVER. AND NO I WILL NOT GIVE OUT THE RESERVE BUT I CAN TELL YOU IT IS LOW. On Sep-08-10 at 21:34:33 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDING THAT I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE ACTUALLY USED A K-GT TO MAKE A SHELBY CLONE, THE GT 350 EMBLEM FOR THE TAILLIGHT PANEL IS IN THE GLOVE BOX, THE ONLY THING THAT I WAS GOING TO DO SINCE SOMEONE HAD GONE THIS FAR WAS TO PURCHASE THE SIDE VENT PLEXI-GLASS UNITS AND INSTALL THEM, THEN PUT A 66 FRONT VALANCE AND BUMPER TO MAKE IT A 66 CLONE. I ALSO HAVE AVAILABLE MANY NOS PARTS, 2 65-66 NOS COUPE QUARTERS (BLACK PRIMER) A NOS 65-66 HOOD BLACK PRIMER, A NOS 65-66 FASTBACK QUARTER PANEL (DON'T REMEMBER WHICH SIDE, L&R NOS 65-66 FENDERS. REALLY NICE FORD FRONT AND BACK BUMPERS, WAS WAXED AND WRAPPED AND PUT UP IN THE RAFTERS, (2) TWO NOS FRONT VALANCES, ONE RED PRIMER ONE BLACK. ALSO A 66 A CODE GT COUPE WITH MOST OF THE ORIG INTERIOR (BAD SHAPE) RUSTED BEYOND REPAIR WITH CLEAR TITLE, NEEDS A DONOR BODY, WAS A FACTORY BLACK CAR WITH RED PONY INTERIOR, CONSOLE, RED GT STRIPES, STILL HAS THE BUCK TAG AND DOOR TAG, INTERIOR, ENGINE AND 4SPEED, DISC BRAKES, ROTTED REALLY BAD. I WILL SEE TOMORROW IF I CAN JACK UP THE FASTBACK AND TAKE SOME UNDER PICS. On Sep-10-10 at 10:55:57 PDT, seller added the following information: i just jacked up the car and took more pics, i have no way to put them on this auction as i am at the limit, but if you are serious about the car, message me and i will send them to you. i found that i think the pans have been replaced with maybe full pans on each side but i am not sure, the frame rail extensions under the pass and drivers side pans are beat up pretty good but not rusted, there is a messy welding issue with the forward mounting area of the pass side leaf spring with the rear frame rail. i really couldn't find hardly any rust except a few small pin holes on top of the trunk area and i had to search for them. i could not find a tag or serial number on the trans. i have no way to verify if the vin number is under the left front fender forward of the shock tower without removing the fender and i am not going to do that. On Sep-10-10 at 19:41:44 PDT, seller added the following information: i am being told that the pic i took of the rear is a 8" not a 9", i have no idea, i don't want to mislead anyone. if that is the fact i have several ford 9" housings taken from 1956-7 fords of which i read that they are exactly the same width as the 65-66 mustang rears and have been used by many to put 9" rears in these year cars. if it is infact a 8" rear i would be more than happy to give one of these to the buyer. but again, i am not familiar with the car or familiar with identifying ford rears. so sorry for any confusion. On Sep-12-10 at 08:37:09 PDT, seller added the following information: I HOPE THIS IS THE LAST THING I HAVE TO ADD, I AM BEING TOLD BY SOMEONE THAT THE CAR HAS A 8" REAR IN IT, THEN SOMEONE ELSE EMAILS ME AND SAYS IT IS DEFINITELY A 9 " REAR, I HAVE MORE PICS BUT I CAN'T POST THEM.
