1992 Jeep Cherokee Sport 2 Door Lifted 4X4 5 Speed. I bought this from a kid who lived in my area. He had used it for work and had removed the rear seat and rear seat belts. The sheet metal in the floors, cargo area and rocker panels (particularly drivers side) have rusted through sections (see photos). This is typical in these old Jeeps as I have owned a few. However, all of the frame portions are solid. I put some tin to patch up the floors ( I just did a quick patch job with some tin). The Jeep starts up and runs very well. The 4.0 High Output engine is very strong and runs smoothly with no knocks, smoke or other noises in engine. The 5 speed transmission shifts well through all gears. The clutch is tight and the transfer case shifts through it's settings and the 4 wheel drive works. There are some things wrong with the jeep mostly small things. The power steering pump leaks. It still works but is leaking I have a replacement pump that I will include in auction, I just never got around to putting it in. There is no headliner or radio a small crack in dashboard and on center console. There are several dents on body and small rust spots here and there. The Glass is all good with no cracks. However, the knobs are missing off the window handles on the two doors. It's a minor thing as the windows work go up and down. The drivers side wing window has some rust on it's lower frame but still works. All lights, heat, wipers, gauges work properly. The steering is tight, but I believe the left front shock may need replacing as it thumps when you hit bumps. Also, the front passenger sway bar link needs to be replaced. ($15 part at Autozone and easy to put in). I will include the two off road bumpers (see photo) if winner wants them. They came with Jeep and are very sturdy need a good wirebrushing and coat of paint. I have tried to cover everything, but if anyone has additional questions, please ask and I will post responses for all to see. lastly, not perfect, but a very good running reliable 4x4 that can be driven as is right now. $100 deposit via PayPal due upon auction closing with balance due in cash. Must be picked up in Middletown NY 10940 area within 7 days of auction closing.
