Vehicle Detail
1978 Pontiac Trans am. Pontiac 400, not the olds 403. I believe a turbo 350 trans, posi rear end. I bought this car for my wife. I had planned on painting it up silver, with the silver/blue bird on the hood. Well, kids, bills, time, and the fact that she now really wants me to get our 56 Plymouth going, puts this one up for sale. The car looks bad, but is super solid. I bought this car after I had bought one on Ebay that looked real good in the pics, but once I got it home I found out it was a rust bucket. This is the exact opposite of that car. It doesn't look pretty. It was originally blue, was repainted white, then mainly stripped. The guy I got it from lost his storage space, and he had to sell it. I drove it up onto my trailer 4 years ago when I bought it. I have had it running/driving (backroads) every summer except this one, so far. I just haven't had the time. I plan to get a couple pics up tomorrow, and will try to get it up and running this weekend. Yeah, it needs plenty of work, but sheet metal work on this will be at a minimum. No panel replacements needed. The floor, frame, and exterior panels are all in great shape. The trunk floor does have 1 patch. I bought it with out a title, so a bill of sale is all I can offer. With companies like Broadway title, etc... Getting a title for old cars like this is no big deal. The price is fairly firm, but throw me an offer. May take some trades....old Mopar stuff, Cummins stuff, 60's-1993 Dodge trucks, I need a good air compressor (mine crapped out), I need a slab poured in my shop, I want a car hoist for said shop, etc... I am not interested in daily commuter rides... I would prefer to sell outright, but who knows. If you are interested in the car, call me at 612-735-1190.Thanks. Derek Update: I got home today, pulled a battery out of my old flatbed Dodge truck, hooked it up to the T/A, put a little gas down the carb, pumped it twice, and it started right up. I drove it from my storage building over to my shop. I will work on getting it cleaned up. It has been in the barn for the last 4 years. Pretty dusty, and dirty. Ran good! I wish all my projects were as easy as this one. Thanks again. Derek Will deliver to Minneapolis / St. Paul, or Mankato area for free.
