Black '80 D90 Diesel - 2.5 liter Natural Aspirated - Non Turbo 4 cylinder Perkins Derivative Diesel. New Land Rover Seats and side facing bench seats in rear for four. New grill from UK makes this look like a new Defender off the line. New brush guards, lock box, mats. Sirius Satellite/CD/MP3/iPod Ready Stereo. All new hinges. Custom Soft Top. New exhaust and engine overhaul last year. It's been fully restored in December '07 with all new accessories. I restored it three years ago, so it's in really nice shape. Not a single scratch or ding. no major rusting going on. (There is no visible rust anywhere on the exterior of the car, bulkheads, etc. The only rust is some visible surface rust on the undercarriage. Nothing structural that's rusting through, though it should probably get a few coats of spray to protect it further in the future. The exhaust had rusted through and was all recently replaced.) Engine is in great shape. last year i had it overhauled and I also replaced the fuel pump. Low mileage. Fully restored with all new interior seats, mats, exterior accessories, diamond plate , wheels, tires, grills, etc. New Alpine stereo system w/ ipod adapter and with Sirius Satellite (comes with free satellite service as they never shut off my service after i canceled). Note that i had to remove the side steps (were not original and were rusting) and added a rear gate for the spare tire. The Engine: Manual Transmission. LT77 gear box 2.5 liter Natural Aspirated - Non Turbo 4 cylinder Perkins Derivative Diesel The 200TDi is the non-turbo version of this engine. Was in production in consumer cars from 88-92. remained in production thru 97 for military. was used in defenders, rovers, discovery's. Replaced the fuel pump last summer. History The VIN # is SALLDVAC8AA260736 The truck was previously owned by Richard Moody, who is the owner of Rover Special Vehicles in Jamestown, RI. He restored it for me and according to him, was acquired from the US government.
