Up for auction is a 1968 Ford Thunderbird Two Door Hardtop. Yellow (code W) exterior with Nugget Gold (code 4Y) ) interior. This car has original drive train with with the optional 429 cu.in. Thunderjet engine. This engine was rated at 360 HP and 476 Lb.Ft. Torque.C-6 automatic transmission and 9" Posi Traction rear end. This is an original 58,000 mile car which has been in storage for the past ten years. We have recently gone through the mechanicals to get vehicle road worthy. This includes: 1.Brake system, front rotors, calipers, hoses and pads, brake power booster/master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders. 2. Fuel system, new fuel pump, carb. rebuild and fuel tank flush. 3. Exhaust, new mufflers and resonators. System is solid. 4. Engine, full tune up, oil change and fluid service. 5. Suspension, new idler arm, "A" arm bushings, new front wheel bearings. 6. Tires, BF Goodrich tires with 98% tread remaining. The body is good, with only lower rear quarter panel rust. The inner rockers, floor pans, trunk extensions are very solid. The paint on the car is fair. The vinyl top needs to be replaced. The chrome/stainless is fair. Bumpers need to be rechromed. The car shows no evidence of accident damage. The interior is original, with normal wear, driver's seat has several rips in vinyl. Trunk is solid, but mats and cardboard is missing. All glass in good shape, rear windows do not operate.This car runs and drives nicely, but needs some TLC. Third time's a charm...this is our last attempt to sell this vehicle. Recently, we installed new battery cables and a rebuilt starter. Driven daily for the last few weeks. Runs strong and is really a nice car to drive. We reserve the right to sell locally and end auction early.
