Vehicle Detail

1959 Cadillac Convertible Low Reserve History: Vehicle history reports are only available on vehicles made after 1981. You can order an independent inspection to find out more about the vehicle’s condition. Seller’s Description: There’s little about the 1959 Cadillac I can tell you that you probably don’t already know. Stupendous cars, you are the center of attention anywhere you go in one of these magnificent testaments to the “golden” era of automotive styling and engineering. This beautiful car was fulfilling a dream I’ve had of owning a ’59 Cadillac Convertible since I can remember. Here are the options on the car, it is LOADED. It has: Air Conditioning (very rear), Cruise Control, Power Top, 6 Way Power Seats, Power Windows, Autotronic Eye, Remote Drivers Floorboard Radio Channel Changer, Remote Trunk Release, Outside Passenger Mirror, Remote Adjustable Drivers Mirror, Fog Lamps. It is for all intents and purposes rust free. The sheet metal throughout is rock solid, the floor boards and the trunk look like new. There is nothing cut out and replaced on the vehicle. The body is straight and in very good condition. The paint is shiny and in excellent overall condition with just a few minor scuffs here and there in areas like the door kick panels. Nothing of any consequences. Most of this description is from the previous owners and/or what I can see for myself. I own some classical cars but I do not work on them. I leave it to the professionals. I bought the car as is. However the previous owner had the engine completely rebuilt, balanced and blueprinted. The engine is like new with only 2900 miles on it. The carburetor was rebuild, new alternator installed, new started, new water pump, new fuel pump and so on. The transmission was rebuilt and a turbo 400 transmission installed and the driveshaft rebuilt. It shifts like a new car. It has a rebuilt four row radiator and a/c condenser recently installed as well as all new belts and hoses. Fuel tank was boiled out and sealed. A completely new exhaust system from the header pipes to the tip of the exhaust has been installed. Air conditioning was converted to R-34 which is inexpensive and easy to change. The front drum brakes were pulled out and installed a modern disc. Rear brakes were rebuilt, installed a new rear suspension springs and the car is much safer now. The interior clock was rebuilt. NOS headlight switch assembly was installed. The ignition switch was replaced with NOS key set. Speedometer rebuilt and the odometer reset to zero to match the motor. The bumper were pulled out and chromed to show quality. There were never any dents. The stainless steel panels were polished. New gangster whitewall radial tires that have less than 350 miles. There is hitch installed to trailer the previous owner’s antique motorcycles to shows. It can easily be removed. The original wonderbar radio work perfect so does the power antenna. Somehow, it just seems "right" to listen to AM radio when you're tooling around town in this beauty. The top is in ok condition. The rear window is clear and unbroken. The top stays down most of the time anyway. The interior is the original leather and is in overall good condition. There is a small one inch tear on the rear seat. The cruise control is disconnected. The unit does work if one reconnects it. The cigarette lighters work the rear two do not. All in all this is a great car and a joy to own and drive. It was never a frame off restoration but it is close to excellent condition without spending 150k. The previous owner would take it to show; driving it more than 700 miles. It’s been in various shows for the past 5 years. Now, to the details. I’m not interested in trades. There is no warranty; expressed or implied. I’ll be happy to spend whatever time you need to inspect the car or to have your mechanic to inspect at my house. I have a clear Nevada title. I’m not aware of any accident. Most of this description was attained from the previous owners. I have not done any work on this car except for some minor maintenance. A $1,500.00 non-refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The balance must be paid with 5 days with cash, money order or a wire transfer. The car is always garaged in a climate control garage. I also reserve the right to cancel any bid. The car is also for sale elsewhere and I reserve the right to cancel the auction at my sole discretion. This is an opportunity to own a 1959 Cadillac Convertible for a very reasonable price. Don’t miss the opportunity to become an owner of one the greatest car ever built. On Aug-31-10 at 07:08:37 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE !!! Reserve Removed !!! !!!!!! RESERVE REMOVED !!!!! On Aug-31-10 at 09:09:52 PDT, seller added the following information: Note As I stated on the Q & A section of my add, I am very new to E Bay. I was informed that I can not remove the reserve when there are bids. This was a mistake on my behalf and you can disregard the above note. I also added some photos of the floor and under the car that are not reflected in my ad. I guess that can not be done either once the auction has started. Nevertheless I do not have a reserve any more and the highest bidder will get the car.
