Vehicle Detail

It tears me up to sell this car, but it is sitting in a garage in Los Angeles (where it has been stored for the past 8 months) and I am now living in Berlin where I have moved to open an art gallery. It was a joy to drive, turned heads everywhere I went without being ostentatious, and got very respectable mileage (28 miles/gallon on the highway). It has been kept original and even still has the factory Blaupunkt radio with the single speaker in the middle of the dash. Good luck bidding. Basics VIN: 12804441 Mileage: 82, 218 5 speed manual transmission Rear wheel drive Dimensions/Weight Wheelbase: 2268 mm 89.3 in Length: 4163 mm 163.9 in Kerb weight: 968 kg 2134 lb Engine Cylinders: F-4 Displacement: 1.6 litre (1582 cc) Max Power: 91.3 PS (90 bhp) (67.1 kW) @5800 rpm Max Torque: 133.0 Nm (98 ft.lb) (13.6 kgm) Maintenance History Upon purchasing the car in January 2008 it had been sitting on a lift in storage since 1985. After delivery I had the following work done (all with receipts): -replaced brake hoses -replaced outer tie rods -replaced front and rear shocks -fixed turn signals, break, and reverse lights -fixed horn -front end alignment -replaced gas hose -new tires The total cost was $2600. After this the car was regularly driven (every week - and once on a 1500 mile road trip) and stored only in covered garages. Additional work done over the two years of ownership includes: -replaced brakes -replaced master cylinder -new distributor -new ignition wire set -complete overhaul and adjustment of carbs In total (including regular tune-ups and oil changes) over $5200 of work, with receipts for all. Vehicle Condition My mechanic - it took a while to find a good one but then a friend of mine who also had a 912 recommended me to a garage in Pasadena that dealt almost exclusively with vintage Porsches - told me that 912s as "straight" as mine were few and far between. The car is essentially rust free, except for the gas heater pipe, which is rusted away. An early Porsche with this good a floor pan is a rare find. All gauges, lights, warning lights, license plate lights, cigarette lighter and dash lights work except for the engine heat gauge. I have never had a problem with overheating and have driven it to Las Vegas in the summer. Also the windshield washer nozzles are not currently hooked up. If I were to keep the car the two things I would do would be to get some original Porsche hubcaps for the wheels and also to have it repainted. The paint job looks good from a distance but it has been repainted and the job that was done is not perfect. Purchase Foreign bidders I can assist with transportation. I require the winning bidder to make a $1000 deposit within 24 hours of end of auction. Balance of payment is due within 7 days via certified check or money order. Car is sold AS IS with no warranty. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer and I will assist with coordinating the shipping. Please contact me with questions and thanks for looking. Daniel daniel.j.wilson (at) gmail.com
