Vehicle Detail

I am putting up for auction one of my Honda Scramblers. I bought this because I though it looked cool and I wanted a small vintage motorcycle to commute to work on. Somehow I now have three. This one is rare in that it is an almost complete bike I think. It has an un-chopped front fender, a muffler, chainguard, case guard, original seat, and even an engine top cover. I think it is only missing one of the original mirrors. I would think this makes it a worthy candidate for restoration or you could just ride it. You would have to spend a lot customizing a Harley to turn as many heads as this bike does as it is. It seems everyone had, or wanted one of these when they were new. I've had people do u-turns on the highway to come back and look at it while I've been at a gas pump. The bike runs great and mechanically everything functions great -except the neutral light has stopped working, dont know if it is the bulb or switch. Other problems are the vintage dunlop rear tire has developed some age cracks, (I will include another rear wheel as well with a newer tire), and it has the sometimes 305 problem that there is some oil seep from somewhere so that after a ride there might be a drop on the floor and I have to clean the cooling fins every so often. I dont know if the head screw nuts just need to be torqued down more or what. The motor has just been rebuilt, with new pistons and rings, and bearings and a new crankshaft. The engine had a lot of vibration before the rebuild but is now normal for a cl77. The person who did the work said the transmission looked very good. The motors pulls strong, starts easily, and has always been reliable. The bike will go fast for a 305. I've gone 85 which is my limit anyway. The brakes work good, all lights and horn work. A problem is that the key will fall out of the ignition on bumpy roads so you need to keep it in your pocket when you ride. The front wheel could use some truing. I adjusted the spokes on one of my other bikes and made it perfectly round and suspect the same could be done with this one but the tire needs to be removed to do this and I have not gotten around to doing that. The wheel has been balanced so that when riding it has not been a problem. This is an old motorcycle and for much of its life was not considered collectible. Almost ever piece has a patina of age, or, some dents and scuffs and surface corrosion typical of a bike this old. The paint is not original. The worst corrosion is on the rim of the rear wheel which I have tried to show in pictures. NH does not title bikes this old but I have the Massachusetts title that the previous owner issued to me. I know nothing about shipping bikes but could certainly meet a shipping company in my dooryard if a buyer makes all of the arrangements. I might also be willing to deliver in New England for $1.50 a loaded mile. I would invite, in fact prefer, that any potential buyer come and see the bike in person before bidding. I have really enjoyed owning, riding, and even working on, this bike and want the next owner to be as happy with it as I have been.
