Vehicle Detail

This 1955 Chevrolet Nomad Belair is a steal for any antique car buff looking for a once in a lifetime restoration project. This Nomad started its life at the GM factory in Tarrytown, NY where a short time after it was turned into a street/strip gasser. Little more is known of the background of this piece of history. The body and chassis are mostly stock, besides the tubbed rear wells and fiberglass nose. I was told it has a 9" Ford rear end with Chevy bolt pattern. The car had undergone a partial restoration over a decade ago, but was never completed. My father purchased the car 11 years ago and it sat in his garage until now. It is now in grey epoxy primer but there is still some evidence of its former burnt orange paint job. What you see is what you get. I don't know if all the stainless and chrome is there, but it looks pretty complete. The side windows in the photos have the frames and latches in tact but the glass is cracked so the glass will need to be replaced. This is everything that came with the car when it was purchased. The wheels are weld racing wheels, mounted with Mickey Thompson tires. The tires are in very good condition and are only a few years old with little mileage on them. The car is in very restorable condition, but does need a full restoration. The fiberglass nose has a couple of cracked holes in it, and the passenger rear quarter panel was bumped on the passenger wing and is going to need to be repaired. The floors are solid but have been patched in a few areas and will need some attention. As you can see in the photos, the frame appears to be very solid. The vehicle is a rolling chassis and body only (no engine or transmission) includes a bill of sale only (no title). Use your own discretion when purchasing this vehicle as it is a restoration project and is by no means a running vehicle. The buyer is responsible for all shipping fees, to be arranged once the vehicle is purchased.
