Vehicle Detail
1985 Honda Civic CRX with 57,100 actual miles (yes, actual miles are on the title, too)! This CRX has a 1988 Acura Integra 1.6 liter, D16A1, DOHC engine (160 HP with 11:1 compression ratio per the builder), a 1988 Acura Integra P1 4-speed automatic transmission with a 4-speed shifter. Both transmission and engine have 4,100 miles on complete rebuilds by the Sarasota speed shop owner from whom I purchased the car via eBay per the following eBay auction: (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-honda-crx-1-6-dohc-160-hp-/110547044849?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item19bd1e09f1 ). The timing belt is new, too. Car has a Mega Squirt extra programmable ECM with 2 bar map per the builder (again, I have NO idea what that means or if it's installed), but there is a shiny new ECM under the passenger seat! Car looks (exterior & interior), drives, runs and shifts great (like a 57,000 mile car with a rebuilt engine and transmission)! No shakes, shimmy, does not pull in any direction, no dents, scratches, rips or stains and everything works fine. This car has not been abused and was garage kept until I purchased!! In addition to the Acura Integra engine and transmission, this CRX has Acura Integra front hubs/brakes (with new brake pads) and Integra CV joint axles. The 15-inch tires are very good and the aluminum wheels are excellent, nearly new, as are the JVC CD-AM/FM radio, the header-back exhaust system and tinted windows. The original 1985 CRX owners manual and factory 1988 Integra owners and service manuals, as well as, paperwork for the Mega Squirt ECM and owners manual for the JVC stereo CD radio go with the car. Cold air conditioning, rear shocks and front struts are under two-years-old per the previous owner. Engine oil and filter were just changed to Castrol Edge synthetic 5W-30 & a K&N at 57,000 miles. Automatic transmission fluid is 4,100 miles old. I averaged 25-26 MPG on each tank of gas. Very, Very Nice Car!! So why am I selling it? My wife hates the way it rides and sounds (like a roller coaster and the muffler's too noisy, she says (it is NOT!)). She won't drive it or ride in it! And...we just bought a BMW 328i to replace this CRX, so we can not accept ANY trades. The starting bid is 60% of what I have in it and I'm hoping to recover most of my investment, but I'll have to wait and see. If you're looking for a CRX, you'll be hard-pressed to find a nicer one. It's only "real" negative is that the speedometer got stuck at 30 MPH while driving on I-75 last week, as it probably hasn't gone that fast (no, not 30)...ever ;>), but has since gone back to zero. The odometer continues to function properly, so the miles are still actual. If you're local, there's a speedometer repair shop in Fort Myers that should be able to repair it for about $200, perhaps closer to $150 if you remove it yourself. Obviously, most any speedometer repair shop should be able to repair it, if necessary. Car is for sale through other means closer to my investment cost, so this auction may end at any time before an eBay bid is placed. Thanks for looking! Anyone local may view the car or if anyone needs more information, please email via eBay or call Charlie @ (941) 548-1213.
