This 1971 Opel GT is in exceptional condition and has only 70,329 original miles. My father calls it the Hanger Queen because it spends most of its time in the garage. I have only put 20,329 miles on it in 29 years of owning it. It runs great and looks even better. I purchased it in 1981 as my first car. It is originally from Florida and I am the 3rd owner. The speedometer/odometer was replaced with a used one prior to my purchasing it. It currently reads 58,829 which is 11,500 less then the actual miles. After purchasing the car my father and I stripped it to the metal and repainted it Spectra Red. This car is absolutely rust free and has never seen a Minnesota winter. In addition it is housed year around and only sees sunny days. In 1998 I had it professionally appraised. At that time it was appraised at $5000. The appraiser listed it as a Show condition car. Since then I have replaced the carpeting and seat upholstery. These were only listed as good condition in the appraisal and would now be listed as excellent. Since the appraisal I have only put 3340 miles on the car. It has American Racing wheels and low profile tires but I am also selling the original wheels and tire with it. With a family of 5 the car gets less and less use each year. I no longer have the luxury of owning a two seat car. I am looking for someone who has the time and ability to show the Hanger Queen off like she deserves to be shown off. All supporting documentation will go to the new owner.
