Vehicle Detail
I'm going to say that this 1960 T3 A is one of the most beautiful and meticulously restored Triumphs you'll ever find anywhere. I have the Build Certificated from British Motors Heritage Trust for this Overdrive equipped car. About the frame-off restoration. It was done in two phases by two different vendors. The "rolling chassis" restoration (all drive train, hydraulics, suspension and electrical) was performed by Motorhead, a British Motor Heritage-approved shop in Fairfax, VA. All the coachwork (body and interior) was done over several years by English Motor Garage in Fairfield, CT. The body work is especially beautiful, with a dark Jaguar-like green finish that has terrific depth. Only the trunk lid and bonnet are original from 1960. Everything else is New Old Stock from England - not ill-fitting reproductions - and you won't find an ounce of filler or patching in this car. It's like new because almost everything is new. The interior is equally nice. You'll notice that the leather and carpets are in wonderful condition. I condition them regularly. I did not originally plan to make this a show car - until I went to a show and got the bug. After that, I went nuts making sure that everything was original to the period. For instance, I swapped out my spin-on oil filter adaptor, and put back the canister type. I replaced, in the engine bay, any hose or clamp or decal that was't original in 1960. I made sure that the capillary tube for the temperate gauge had the right clamps and the right number of coils. (I'd have come in First, instead of Second, in my first only only Concours had I done those things in the first place. The car drives very reliably like a dream, and I've used it as a Summer and Fall daily driver. You'll notice, too, all the original tools (only the grease gun is missing). It's as close to show room as you'll ever get for a car that's actually driven because every care has been taken to protect and maintain it. I'm setting a fairly high reserve price on this car because its near-perfection deserves it. I've never sold a car on eBay, and I'll want a $5000 deposit (no PayPal) from the winning bidder. The car is in New Hampshire, and I'd be happy to bring it to the bid winner in any New England state. The rest of the transport business belongs to the winner. Feel free to get in touch with any questions. Take care, and thanks for reading. Rick
