Vehicle Detail

Up for bid today is a 1959 Chevrolet Impala convertible restoration project all complete. Please read the complete description, a lot to be said about this "diamond in the rough"!! I've owned this for 15 years now and had plans for a full blown restoration but just have not had the time, to many projects! Maybe someone out there can devote the time and money that this classic needs and deserves,...this is a good investment car! My brother owned it for 5 years before me and at the time had the 283 V8 turbo fire engine rebuilt in 1991. After the rebuild it was smooth running, burned no oil of course and ran strong. Since the rebuild it logged less than 5 miles and/or 2 1/2 hours run time. Sadly the motor is now stuck now from all those years in storage. No title, will issue a bill of sale of course. ... Maine does not issue titles for vehicles older than 15 years, sorry. I did the best I could to take close up pictures of the "good and the bad" areas. I think the pictures are pretty self explanatory, but I'll elaborate some anyways. The Impala floor boards need work/replace and the same can be said about the trunk floor. The complete tail light area needs work/replace too,...if you notice in the pictures I have a complete original replacement panel that is in much better shape to replace this area and comes with the Impala, it needs some work too. The trunk lid water drain channel is rusted and needs work/replace too. The lower part of the rear quarters has some rust and needs help also, but not bad at all (see the pictures). I believe mileage is original at 122042. The frame is solid all the way around bumper to bumper. The rust issues of the sheetmetal appear to have stemed from the convertible top leaking many years ago. The transmission shifts freely and worked well when last run/driven. The brake shoes are stuck to the brake drums from the long storage time, both on the rear and one on the driver’s side front….…the front passenger side is free rolling. The Impala is equipped with factory p/s, p/b, p/top, and the quite rare 3 speed Turbo glide auto trans. The Impala has a clutch pedal as you may have noticed, implying it was once a standard not an auto, I don’t know for definite which it was originally. Standard or turbo glide is rare, most came threw as 2 speed power glides. Additional opt./acces. include the grille guard/bumper “bullets” and dual rear mount antennas of which are all original, not repos. The power top motor, pistons and all convertible bows are original and in place. Lastly the Impala also comes with a small pickup load of parts,…all that you see on the blue tarp. If you have any questions please e-mail me or call. @ 207-975-3647 no solicitors *********NOTE********* Also, I will be posting a lot more vehicles of varying interest in the next several weeks/and or months. I've been a long time collector since 1982 of Chrysler, Ford, GM, Mercedes and VW......200++ vehicles. Something is sure to interest you.........cars, trucks, buses, coupes, convertibles, hard tops, sedans, (2 & 4 door), suburbans, fire trucks, blazers, 4x4s, chevelles', camaros', gtos', 6x6s', parts vehicles, projects, rare, unique, special interest, ect. ect!!!!!!!! All vehicles being listed on ebay will start at a modest starting bid with no reserve or no starting bid with a modest reserve. Winning bidder is responsible for pick up and/or all shipping costs. I will deliver free within 15 miles of vehicle location. I'll also deliver for a fee of $1.50 per mile from 16 miles of vehicle location up to a maximum of 50 miles,.....no more sorry, I'm not a trucking company and don’t have the extra time for longer mileage trips. Please don't bid if you have a bad rating and no intention of purchasing item,....thanks for looking and have a nice day. :-) On Aug-09-10 at 18:58:44 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry for the confusion. There is NO RESERVE on this car. Thanks Bob
