Vehicle Detail

1986 BMW 535i. 5-Speed manual transmission with 218K miles. Dolphin Grey metallic with an eye catching red leather interior with optional arm-rests and door inserts. I have owned the car since 2007 with 207K miles and have performed the following while owning the vehicle. • New BMW OEM Shift Knob • New Heater Blower Motor • New Roundel's all-around • New MTP-91 Interstate Battery • New Exhaust System • New Ash Tray • New Tail Light Bulb Sockets • Added Door-hinge cup holders • Purchased used set of Mille Miglia wheels fitted with Bridgestone Blizzak Tires • Full 35% Window Tint all around • 4 Wheel Alignment • New Clutch (Flywheel Machined at same time) • New Distributor Rotor • New Front & Rear Brakes • OEM BMW Car Bra • Installed New CD Player with iPod Auxiliary Input • New Pioneer 6 1/2" Rear Speakers • New Seat Covers • New Bavarian Autosport Dashboard Cover • Recover and Recharge of A/C System • New Driver Front Door Lock & Key • New Headlights I bought this car to use a daily driver to keep miles off of my other vehicle. It has proven to be a very reliable A to B car, and has served me well. The oil has been changed religiously every 3000 miles with Mobil 1 0W-40 Synthetic, and has ran on 91 octane premium fuel. The vehicle does have a prior salvage title from an accident involving the front left in 1998. The front left fender and driver door were replaced, but no damage was caused to the driveline or frame of the vehicle. The body of the car does show some wear. I have brought the car up to good "daily driver," status with the repairs performed, and have not spent as much time cosmetically on the vehicle as I would have liked too. This would make a great first car for a young driver who wants something unique in the school parking lot, or a great A-B car for someone who appreciates the fun of owning a BMW. The drivers side of the vehicle (front quarter panel, driver front door, rear quarter panel) are starting to show their age and are rippling/rusting, the passenger side of the vehicle is holding up quite well. Also, if you will drive the car on the highway a great deal, the rubber window seals on the front doors should be replaced, as it can get a bit noisy when the car is above 50mph. Vehicle will be sold "As is," with no warranty. With the limited slip differential and Blizzak tires, it gets around very well in the snow. I also have the original wheels that came on the vehicle prior to me installing the Mille Miglia's, I will happily give those to the new owner with the purchase price. Buyer is responsible for pickup of the vehicle within 7 days of the auctions end and all shipping/handling charges (if needed). Thank you, and happy bidding! On Aug-10-10 at 12:15:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello again. Three items that I wanted to tell potential buyers on the vehicle but forgot in the original description (I apologize, I want to disclose as much information as possible). 1. The sunroof motor works, but the plastic gear is worn and does not open under its own power. The roof does open/close and vent just fine when done manually. The sunroof has never had any leaking issues while I have owned the car. 2. The A/C system has been kicking off intermittently after about 5-10 minutes. I have not tried to add more 134-A to the system in a while. The compressor clutch sounds like it is engaging disengaging. 3. If you fill the fuel tank all the way full, I have noticed a gas smell for a few miles when driving the vehicle. If I fill an empty tank with 10 gallons of gas (not the full 12), I have had no problems. I also have a set of new NGK spark plugs I was going to install in the car (the engine is not missing, I just didn't know the last time the plugs were replaced) that I will give to the new owner. Last, please don't hesitate to ask any questions. I am happy to help.
