This is a 1978 Fire Bird Formula. It came from the factory with a Pontiac 400 4 speed. It now has a 1970 Pontiac 400 motor with a rebuilt automatic transmission. The 4-speed pedals are still in the car. This is a non-matching motor and transmission combination. Motor runs good. It has an aluminum Edelbrock Torker 2 intake manifold; 650 Holley Carb. The heads are 10.5/1 compression ratio: electric fan: new 4-core radiator up front. This car has new axles, new bearings, and a 10-bolt posi unit with new 4.11 gears. The paint-job was done in September of 2009, Base coat Clear Coat. Along with the new gold eagle put on the hood. Brand new Flow master exhaust was put in this car in January and sounds awesome . Chrome tips come with the car, not installed. All four tires were replaced in September 09, BF Goodrich 15" on stock Pontiac T/A Gold Snow Flake rims. The interior of this car is in pretty good shape, although it's showing some wear and could use new seat covers.This car has a roll bar that is bolted in and can be welded or removed your choice. Also this car has a new black carpet and new black arm rests. The window crank handles are stripped and we have been using vice-grips to roll down the windows. The hood shaker is missing it's air cleaner base. The speedometer stopped working recently. But we think it is just a cable, as it stopped working when the motor was installed. All other gauges work properly. The floors and trunk are in perfect condition no rust at all. The underside is also rust free. There are a couple of small bubbles in the paint at the very bottom of the pass rear quarter not from rust but maybe from lack of primer?? Not a big deal, easy fix but needed to mention it. Items included in purchase of this car are - A mint condition black steering wheel, both brand new interior quarter-panel arm rests for the back seat, and a new back deck cover in blackstill in it,s package. I was going to change it over from red to black interior... hence the reason why I bought all of these black pieces, which will ALL be included in the sale of this car. The heating system and air conditioner was removed before we got it. Although the AC/Heater box is on the fire wall, in the engine compartment.With a new blower motor installed already. I have collected the pieces to rebuild the heating system. A brand new heater core and also the heater box that goes under the dash. This is a very fast, and nice car to own. It grabs all eyes everywhere it goes. I want every one that is reading this to know that this car looks real good but does need some work to make it a great show car.
