We have a large quantity of used trades and many are one and two owner like this Ford Escort. If you have not noticed, the price of crude oil is starting to rise again. This will translate to high prices at the pump very soon. Here is a car that can offer some relief. This is a 1998 Ford Escort SE sedan with 185,000 miles. While that sounds high, remember that 15,000 per year is average and this car is 12 years old. The exterior is Mocha Frost Metallic Clearcoat and looks very nice after a full detailing. There is no evidence of body repairs and the paint did buff up nicely. There are some chips and scrapes, but again..this car is 12 years old. The headlamp capsules are cloud and crazed, they may be able to be saved by using one of kits found in the auto parts store. Aftermarket replacements are available right here on E-Bay at inexpensive prices. The interior looks terrific in Mocha cloth. Up front are a pair of buckets with a center console housing the automatic shifter. The rear seat is a full bench. All the upholstery is clean and free of smoke or pet odors. The headliner is showing it's age and will need to be replaced before it falls on your head. The radio works fine and the air conditioning is ICE COLD, blower works on all speeds. The power door locks do not work from the remote, but can be locked manually for security. To keep you from the gas pumps, you have the help of a 2.0 4 cylinder fuel injected engine. This little 4 banger runs well and the transmission shifts correctly through all the gears. There is no smoke from this engine. All four tires are matching "Westlake" radials worn differently. Measurements are as follows; RF 8/32", RR 3/32", LR 5/32" and LF 8/32". Looks like the two fronts are good and the two rears have limited time left. They are mounted on steel wheels with hubcaps. We did a safety evaluation and found only a few marker bulbs burned out. The brake pads were at approx 6mm and tire measurements were as disclosed. Our tech changed the oil/filter and replaced the burned bulbs. We do not have the owner's booklets or any service records, we do have 2 keys and one non-working remote. Ok, that is it for the old Escort. Lets be realistic...this car has 185,000 miles, so let us assume that there is probably some oil seepage from the engine/transmission pan and the car is not perfect. If you just need a ride to work or school, don't have a stack of money and don't care about impressing your friends and family..bid on this Escort. We will not end this auction early for "offers". Please do not waste your time and ours by asking "what do you want for it"? These questions will be unanswered. The CarFax report is clean with no collision history.
