Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 This 4-door 1982 Mercedes G Wagon is in really fantastic condition. I originally purchased this truck to drive in the winter but when my husband saw how little rust it had - he forbid me from driving it in the snow/rain/slush/etc. We purchased it from a collector where it had been lovingly restored, and stored inside. The interior is in great condition. The seats are original and have been reupholstered in a high quality tan leather. The exterior is also in fabulous shape, with only a couple areas with bubbles in the paint. The previous owner spent well over $6,500 on upgrades and restorations. We have all receipts. The work includes new clutch, new tierods, new front suspension, new brakes, new tires, new hoses and coils, even new rubber trim for around the doors and windows. The previous owner has maintenance receipts going back to the 80’s. Of course all the receipts go with the vehicle. The wagon is 4x4 manual. It comes with front and real mechanical locking axels. The air conditioning system has been upgraded, but is not blowing very cold air. It may just need more freon. Now the bad: the switch for the headlights does not work. The running lights work, but headlights will not turn on. Also, it has a nice CD player, but the speakers are not great. There are a couple exterior flaws that I took photos of – there are a couple spots where there are dime-sized bubbles of paint indicating an area of rust underneath. Also, someone clipped the fiberglass fender extensions and damaged it a bit. The roof has faded. It drives like a classic older vehicle, meaning the mailman may beat you in a zero to 60 race in the neighborhood – no speed shifting! Also, it just doesn’t drive well over 70 mph. Best for around town driving. This truck draws a lot of attention driving down the road. It is very cool looking. I had been looking to driving it around all winter – but like I said – it is way to nice to drive in the snow. The VIN is 46023117003592. I feel ebay is the best venue to sell a unique vehicle like this. So I am putting it on with no reserve and we will let the market determine the value. Don’t bid unless you can pay! Let me know if you have any questions.
