This is a super clean 1985 VW Westfalia Camper van. It has only 102,538 original miles. At 94,000 miles I installed a fresh 2.2 liter GoWesty engine that IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY! (4 months remain) The new engine has around 8,000 miles on it. It is a strong engine and runs really well with ample power up hills. It has an automatic transmission that is smooth and easy to run. I installed the fresh engine because I had planned on taking my family for a tour of the west and wanted 100% assurance that I had the best engine in place! The camper is extremely clean. It is one of the cleanest, most original campers that I have seen to date. The exterior is in excellent condition, with original paint that is in fantastic shape. It has small road chips here and there, mostly on the nose as would be expected of a 25 year old original paint job, but overall it is in really great condition. There has been no damage anywhere. I have repaired a few small chips with touch up paint. Check out the picture of the tire (yes, it is outfitted with Michelin HydroEdge tires). Note the ORIGINAL paint in the wheel well! This rig has ABSOLUTELY NO RUST anywhere! I have never taken it out in the winter, and from the beautiful condition of the entire camper, I can't think that it has ever seen snow or salt. It really is in excellent condition. All of the camping features work well and are nearly spotless. The refrigerator runs 12 volt, 110 volt, or propane, but as most Westy frigdes' does not keep things really cold. The sink is great and very handy. There is lots of storage for food and plates, etc. as well as cooking gear. There is a full upright storage locker for hanging gear, in addition to ample storage area under the middle seat. The front seats rotate to sit back into the camper, with two removable table tops for convenient card games, eating, and wine tasting. The middle seat folds down into a double lower bunk that sleeps two, and the upper bunk sleeps two once the camper top is raised into place. The only element that needs a repair is the screen (which is original) on the upper tent's canvas. The brakes are relatively fresh and have about 90% of the pads remaining. The radio is stock from 1985 and does an amazing job playing either am or fm radio. (What can I say... It works.) The A/C works as best as it ever could, never great but certainly better than nothing. The upholstery in the van is in excellent condition. There is a small quarter-size tear in the rear matress over the engine compartment. Not a big deal and easily repairable. Not noticeable though. The vast majority of the Van is factory original. It is complete with the screen for the rear hatch and privacy screens throughout including the front windshield. (see pictures) Other Updates: Safari 5 spoke wheels with Michelin Hydro Edge tires, virtually new Safari front grill with additional high beam lamps Bilstein shocks recently replaced Relatively fresh brakes Also included are the original wheels and tires which are in very good condition with plenty of rubber remaining. This has been a great van for me and my family, but now it is time to pass the baton to the next caring owner to love and enjoy the freedom of the Westy!
