1966 Mercedes Benz 230SL (Pagoda) Complete Car for Parts or Restoration This is a great 1966 Mercedes 230SL candidate for restoration or parts. The car was being used and maintained regularly till 1999 then it sat in storage till June this year. It comes with extensive records from the 90’s on the cars maintenance. This car is a project but it’s all there. I make sure I represent cars as clearly as possible. I have noted below details to give an accurate representation of the car and have. Car has a clean US title. VIN#11304212013217 Paint/Body The paint is presentable, the car does not have a hardtop, soft top is in good condition, body has rust in rear right quarter, trunk, around the top lid, and underside of car. Body panels are in good condition with some small digs and paint chips. It has full spare, jack, tools and trunk mats. Interior Interior is complete with original radio, seats have been redone, dash wood needs to be replaced, steering wheel has cracks, carpet is faded in areas. All knobs are there and dash candy is still in good shape. Chrome The chrome is pretty good with some pitting/all exterior trim pieces are there except one missing piece of trip behind the driver door down low in front of the rear tire. The rims and trim are in good shape, one center cap has a dent in it. Glass All the glass is in good condition, not cracks or chips. Rearview mirrors are stained but not cracked. Motor / Mechanicals Since the car had sat for ten years I brought it to my mechanic (www.burbackmotors.com) before any attempt to start it. He drained the fuel tank/replaced the fuel filter/cleaned fuel lines/cleaned & adjusted points/repaired cold start valve/charged battery and got the car running. Breaks do not work/throttle is not hooked up to gas pedal, car is not safe to drive and needs to be gone through completely before being road worthy. Several people have asked about the transmission, since the car runs but is not drivable I have not been able to test the gears.
