Vehicle Detail
This wagon has a rough body but a good drivetrain. It could be fixed up and driven or used as a parts donor for another car. While I'm not sure these cars qualify as rare, they're not often seen on the road, and draw attention everywhere they go. Many additional pictures are available here: 1972 Saab 95 pictures Good points: Strong-running V4, with good oil pressure (at idle it runs about 55 psi cold, 20 psi hot.) I believe this engine was either rebuilt or swapped from a much lower-mileage car, but I have no documentation on it.Transmission shifts smoothly and operates quietly in all gears; I believe it may have been swapped or gone through at some point, as well. The freewheel device is intact and operates correctly. Pertronix electronic ignition (no points to adjust)Re-cored radiator with electric fan conversion, installed last year.Body has some surface rust but very little rust-through; the only spots I'm aware of are the body plugs in the front floorboards, and a small spot on the left rear fender. (See pictures.)Registered as a collector car; has a 1972 Washington plate with 1972 tabs.Clean Washington title in hand.Comes with owner's manual, Haynes service manual, three spare steel rims, many other bits and pieces. Bad points: Recently developed an overheating problem, which I currently don't have the time to diagnose. The body is pretty rough, with minor collision damage to the front and right side, and bad paint pretty much everywhere.Interior is partly disassembled. Driver's side door panel is missing, but I have the vinyl covering, which could be used as a template to make another. Rear hatch panel is not installed, but I have it. Front wheel bearings are noisy. The car runs and drives, however, due to the overheating issue and bad front wheel bearings it should be towed. The rear wheel bearings are good, so it could be towed on a dolly if desired. I originally intended to fix it up and drive it, but my daily driver recently broke down, and I can't have two undriveable cars, so this one needs to go. The transmission alone is worth more than the opening bid. The buyer is responsible for picking up the car in Kent, Washington. A Washington title and a bill of sale will be provided. I have described the car and its issues to the best of my knowledge, but keep in mind I'm not a professional mechanic.
