This custom 1959 Ford Fairlane, built by George Reace, was originally supposed to be the The Green Hornet car from the 1960's television show, but presumably ended up as the villain car in the first few episodes. There is a long and interesting history that came with the car, last acquired in 2001. The car has a chopped top and a channeled Z-frame, with both sectioned and winged rear quarters. It has shaved and smoothed doors, rolled front and rear bumper pans, with a louvered trunk lid with over 350 louvers. There are also louvers on the front fender and pan of this one-of-a-kind car. The Chevy V-8 engine runs good, and fires right up. It has a turbo 350 transmission which shifts good, and late GM power steering and front disc brakes. The car originated in Los Angeles, then moved to New York City in the 1970's where it was shown in the custom car circuit. The car remained in New York State for several years; new owners made a few small changes. It is alleged to have been lost in a game of poker, or so the story goes... All of this info was passed down from the previous owner and cannot be verified. The car's exterior color was originally lavendar and white, however, one owner changed the custom paint job to primer grey. The car's interior is the original lavendar and white to match the paint, but is not currently in the best of shape, though usable aside from a missing door panel. This is a great, one-of-a-kind custom automobile that just needs some TLC from a dedicated new owner willing to bring it back to its former glory.
