Vehicle Detail

Offered for sale is my 2008 Jeep Wrangler with NO RESERVE. This is a genuine Private Seller, One Owner vehicle being offered for sale. Color: Red Rock Crystal 2 Door, Dual Tops - Loaded and Built 6 Speed 19,888 miles. Exceptionally Clean Interior, Exterior, Undercarriage, and Engine bay. I am the original owner; I bought it new less than 2 years ago and have spent countless hours making it as perfect as possible. I don’t think anybody builds one of these with the intention of ever selling it; I sure didn’t. Everything on this JK is about as good as it gets; there’s at least $25K in upgrade components on this thing. Please take the time to read about this Jeep in order to appreciate what is for sale here. New, it came extremely well equipped. Power Windows and Locks, Side Air Bags, Tow Package, Alarm, Cruise, Dual Tops (the soft top shown, as well as the 3-piece Freedom Top). And, it came with what they called the 23S package with the optional Electronic Sway Bar Disconnect, and the optional Selectable Rear diff Locker. The 23S package with the optional Rear (electric) Locking Differential and the Electronic Sway Bar Disconnect is quite a rare combination; The combination is no longer offered; it was only available in '08, possibly '07, but not since. Essentially, this Jeep came as a Rubicon but with a different front axle and a different transfer case. It even came with the upgraded suspension. The Upgrades: The transfer case was swapped out for a brand new Rubicon transfer case (RockTrac 4:1). The buyer is welcome to the stock 2.73:1 t-case if they want it. Also upgraded was the front axle. A complete DyanTrac ProRock 44 with a selectable locker, 4.56 gears, and ProSteer Ball Joints was installed. This axle, as configured was approximately $4300. http://www.dynatrac.com/ Of course, the rear end needed to match, so it was re-geared with Superior Axle and Gear components. At this point in the build the Jeep is already superior to a Rubicon, but there’s much, more to this JK. Most of the Major exterior and suspension upgrades are AEV. AEV http://www.aev-conversions.com/products/ is known for making the very best quality Jeep components available. The AEV components on this JK include the Front Bumper, Front Skid Plate, Rear Bumper w/Tire Carrier, AEV Corner Guards, and a 3 ½” AEV Premium Lift. Some of the suspension components were upgraded above and beyond what AEV had to offer. For example, the control arms (all eight) are from JKS http://store.jksmfg.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CONTROLARMS&Store_Code=JKS01&Category_Code=Coil_Spring Another significant suspension upgrade is the addition of a full set of TeraFlex Speed Bumps http://www.teraflex.biz/products/jk-speedbumps-3-4-lift.html Also, the springs were changed. The AEV springs weren't quite perfect with the setup; they sat about 3/4" higher in the front compared to this setup, and about 3/4" lower in the rear, so I changed them out for a set of PolyPerformance springs. The Poly springs are perfect, but the buyer will receive the AEV springs in case he wants to swap them out. The wheels are Hutchinson RockMonsters. These are probably the best bead lock wheel made. Hutchinson makes the wheels that are used on the military’s Hummers. Unlike a conventional bead lock, these are DOT approved and they provide a positive lock of the tire to the rim on both sides. Most bead locks only lock the outer edge and are not DOT approved. The tires are the new GoodYear MT/R’s with Kevlar in a 35x17x12.5 A brand new MT/R K has 19/32nd” tread depth. These measure 17 to 18/32nds In other words, these tires are almost new. There are many other upgrades as well; the list below will show. Now here’s the thing, nobody builds one of these to not use it. So as a buyer you have to be wondering what kind of use or abuse a Jeep like this has seen. Well, the reason this Jeep is getting sold is because I haven’t really gotten the chance to use it. Living in Omaha, NE, we’re about 900 miles away from the great wheeling in Moab, UT. There is no wheeling to be done around here; it’s all corn, literally. We’ve tried to make the trip to Moab several times only to have it ruined by weather. We did get to do some moderate wheeling a couple of times but nothing extreme and certainly no abuse. The Jeep handled it with ease. The suspension and chassis are so smooth and quiet when it is on the trail - very impressive. In the interest of full disclosure, there are a couple of rub marks on the skid plate that occurred when it touched on some slick rock. They were touched up so as not to rust. This Jeep has seen very, very few off-road miles. The vast majority of the mileage is highway and interstate - remember where we live; we're hundreds of miles from anywhere. Road Handling: Great road manners were a very high priority in the build of this Jeep. AEV designed and built a suspension for the JK that actually exceeds the handling of a stock Jeep. You can read about it here if you like http://www.aev-conversions.com/products/nthdegree_jk/ That's a pretty major accomplishment but they did it – they did it with geometry. And, I can attest to the fact they succeeded. This Jeep rides great and handling is without a doubt superior to a stock JK. Overall, this JK is the ultimate combination, one rarely seen. It is supremely capable on the trail while at the same time it offers a great ride with good handling on the road. That was the objective of this build - no compromise.
