1971 Oldsmobile 442 Here is an awesome opportunity to purchase a beautiful triple black 1971 Oldsmobile TRUE 442. I'm having a new baby boy in the next several weeks, so my pride and joy has to find a new home to make room for my new pride and joy. I never had the chance to enjoy this car, but it was always my dream car. I hope to make the dream of somebody else come true! I've only owned this car for several months, but my new son takes top priority, so this sweet 442 must find a new home. It was recently painted Ebony black, with the famous Olds W-30 stripes in gold. This is the best looking color combination on a 442 in my eyes. It looks like an elegant gentleman's muscle car! This 442 has a 455 E head cubic inch engine, with an Edelbrock carburetor that sits on top of an Edelbrock Performer 455 hi-rise aluminum intake manifold. The exhaust manifolds are WZ, and they are connected to dual flowmasters with trumpet chrome exhaust tips. This true 442 sounds really sweet! The rear bumper has the cut-outs for the trumpets. Both the front and rear bumpers are good driver quality, and all the stainless is in good condition. There is a four core radiator for maximum cooling of the Big Block 455. The transmission is a turbo 400. This car has power steering, and power front disc brakes. A brand new black vinyl top was installed last month. This 442 has a fiberglass ram-air hood, and a whale tail spoiler. There are boxed control arms, and a sway bar with a 10 bolt posi-traction rear-end. The factory decals are still on the inside of the trunk lid, but all the other decals were replaced. This is an A/C car, but the compressor is missing. It has an extremely rare in glass rear window defogger. I'm unaware if it works as I haven't had the car long enough to have the rear window steam up. Many Olds guys I talked to never knew that option existed, but the switch is next to the heater fan control. This car has dual sport mirrors, and a factory power trunk. There is a very nice set of Widetrack Super 70's on matching Super Stock II wheels painted the same color as the car with bolt on centers. The trunk carries an original jack, and a full size Super Stock spare. The interior has bucket seats with a console, and still has the shoulder belts. The headliner is in very good condition, and the entire interior shows very well. The dashboard looks nice, and there is a Kenwood detachable faceplate AM/FM CD player with four speakers that sounds great. I just installed a brand new battery, and wiper blades, but the wipers just stopped working for some reason. I priced a new wiper motor at Bumper to Bumper for under $50. The oil/filter and spark plugs were just changed. The original floors and the frame are in extremely solid condition. It is hard to find a true 442 with this color combination in great condition.
