Vehicle Detail
2000 JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT Click a small image to view it. We are the second owner of this 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Our family needs a larger vehicle, so we are ready to part with this one. It has been a very reliable vehicle for us, and does a great job in the snow. To our knowledge, it has never been driven off-road. The serpentine belt was just replaced, as was an O2 sensor. We have done a few upgrades to it, as listed below. Aftermarket Accessories: AT Italia wheels Bridgestone Dueler tires Sony CDX-CA400 in-dash AM/FM/CD player with remote Remote Starter Dynamax cat-back performance exhaust Back Country polished stainless steel nerf bars Factory Features: 4.0L inline 6-cyl. Auto trans 4-wheel-drive A/C (not working- blows hot) Power windows Power locks Roof rack Cruise control Dual air bags Tinted windows The interior is in very good condition, with the following exceptions- The driver's seat is somewhat flattened out on the exit side and has a tear along the side. The plastic trim under the passenger side door is cracked. See pictures. The vehicle has power windows and locks, however, the driver's door must be manually locked. The power windows can only be operated by the driver- the controls on the other doors are locked out, probably an electrical problem in the driver's door as it has a window lockout switch. The backlight in the AM/FM/CD player does not work, so you can't read the display unless the lighting is just right. Other than that, it works well and sounds pretty good. Overall, the exterior looks good, but here are the problem areas- The vehicle has been in three different accidents, two in the front and one in the rear. The first front end collision was completely repaired. We had a minor front end collision recently that we did not repair. The grille insert and grille bezel are cracked- see pictures. The hood and body panels were unaffected. We had also been hit in the passenger side rear corner that broke out the tailight and required a bit of bodywork in the quarter panel. All was fixed, but there is a small crack starting to show in the bodywork- see picture. There are also two rust spots that are starting to show through the paint. One is along the lower edge of the liftgate and one is on the roof where it meets the A-pillar/windshield on the passenger side. Other than a couple of door dings and nicks in the paint, that covers the exterior. The motor leaks a bit of oil- a few drops per day. The A/C stopped cooling last year and we never got it fixed. Other than that, it has started and run very reliably. Jeep has used the 4.0L motor for a long time and they tend to run forever. The Bridgestone Dueler tires are all worn pretty evenly and have about 10-20% tread left- see picture. That is everything I can think of. Feel free to ask any questions.
