This is a true period correct Ford Speedster that was professionally built in the late sixties for the owner of the Clover Dairy, Susanville California.The car was assembled in the Sixties with a shortened A Chassis with cross bracing and rear parallel leaf springs.The condition has minor issues as the paint is original and the patina is period correct.The California Title is clear and in my name,The registration type is a roadster.The car has been shown this May ( "Brass in the Grass", Flapper Picture) . The wheelbase is 90 inches center to center hubs and features a B engine,B trans, open drive shaft and a Ford Falcon rear end. The Body is hand formed in steel with with copper edging and is two inch oak reinforced The seats are hand formed steel also on oak frames and flip up to reveal a storage compartment and underslung 6 volt orbital battery with a cut off for storage.The are finished in vintage vinyl and will accomodate large people easily.The car features a new leather safety belt that is frame attached and works with driver alone or riding mechanic.There is a underslung ahogaa horn that has a mid seat button for driver or passenger to sound. The Wood Steering wheel is a vintage 1919 Buick with a spark retard ,throttle and a column mounted brass starter lever.The dash is walnut and has a vintage tach (not working) speedo & odometer missing tailshaft gears and cable.There is 4 toggle switches which control headlights and taillight,fuel pump and flywheel oil sump return.Inaddition there is a variable exhaust control lever that goes to a hidden muffler or straight to a three inch rear exit tailpipe. The windscreen is also a cut down antique with safety glass in a adjustable frame with a hand wiper and rearview mirror. The car features hydraulic brakes with a new large twin master cylinder, new wheel cylinders that have been recently installed and the car will stop with ease.The rear emergency brake is a modern design and will stop the car on its own if need be.The stop light is master cylinder controlled. The B engine #5207299 runs great with a Stock A head and water pump that uses a vintage 1928 Ford brass honeycomb radiator that has been repaired many years ago.The Burns Downdraft manifold has a rebuilt Stromberg 97 with a dash coke control and the custom exhaust header is a four in one.The stock engine is very tractable and will run in third gear from 15 mph. to 65 mph with ease. The 1932 Ford 3spd gear box is tight,quiet and easy shifting. The car features five epoxied , 1936 Ford wire wheels that run Continental Touring radials size P205/65/R16 which track wheel and provide excellent performance and safety.The suspension is soft riding with plenty of travel and is very comfortable There is a locking rear trunk for Brandy, goggles, and registration. The spare tire mount is frame mounted and is The car has been in numerous tours and shows as well as used for a runs to the store.The only problem is you have to wave and answer questions or have your picture taken quite often. I can tell you that you become like a kid with his first car as you enjoy this turn key classic speedster.I have priced it to sell to a deserving enthusiast collector to get a chance to have some fun right out of the Box.The California Bear Flag and Flying Lady radiator cap are not included in the sale.The car has a thermo-cap motometer.
