Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This is a very nice 1962 International Scout 80. Nearly everything has been refurbished, rebuilt, or replaced. It has the original 152c.i. 4-cylinder engine, 3- speed transmission, and twin stick Dana 18 transfer case. Mileage shows 25,049 miles, which is believed to be correct. The Scout had the original brakes, exhaust, and tires when I purchased it just over four years ago. It runs, drives, and shifts as it should. The engine was disassembled, cleaned, and inspected. It was in very good condition, so the only upgrade was hardened valve seats added so that it runs on regular unleaded gasoline. The transmission and transfer case were also disassembled, cleaned, and inspected. The clutch was in good condition only requiring a rebuilt master cylinder and new slave cylinder. The brakes have been completely gone through, with new shoes, cylinders, drums, lines, and master cylinder. The front end was disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled with new seals and bearings. Manual locking hubs operate smoothly. All of the springs have new bushings and shocks. New body mounts were installed when the body was put back on the frame. All electrical components work as they should. The seat was reupholstered to original style and molded carpet was added. It has a new windshield with new rubber seal. New felt was added to the sliding glass windows and frame. The rubber door seals were also replaced. The body is in very good condition, with only minor bubbling of the paint on the passenger side rocker panel, shown in the pictures. The paint looks good, but isn’t perfect. The top has some chips in the paint, and could use some attention as it has not been refurbished. It’s in good condition otherwise, with no rust. A new rubber seal for the rear window is included. The tires and rims are brand new. The original bias ply tires and rims are included in the auction. They still hold air, but are weather checked and have flat spots. The only thing that doesn’t work is the passenger side vacuum windshield wiper. I only drive it on nice days, so fixing it hasn’t been a priority. The exhaust is the original, so it could stand to be replaced; it is rusty and there is a leak at the muffler. There are tons of new parts on this Scout that I haven’t listed. Email me with questions or for more details. I have a copy of the line set ticket. Clear Michigan title in my name. It’s a fun driver, but isn’t a show truck. It will need some more work to be that. Ask all questions before bidding. Secure financing before bidding. If you are local and want to inspect the Scout I would encourage you to do so. No allowance will be made for any defect present during the auction after the auction has ended. Sold as is, where is, with no warranty. This is a 48 year old truck, anything can break at any given moment. I will assist in loading it on a truck or trailer, but it is your responsibility to secure transportation and cost. It could be driven anywhere, but it has 4.88 gears and maxes out at 45-50 mph. I can store it in my garage for up to three weeks, but it must be paid in full within 7 days of auction end. A $1000 paypal deposit is required within 24 hours of auction end. The remaining balance may be paid by certified check or cash in person. All funds must clear my bank before the Scout leaves my premises. I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime if the Scout becomes unavailable as I have it listed locally for sale. I drive it on nice evenings and weekends, so the mileage may be a little higher by the end of the auction; 100 max. Once the auction ends, I will cease driving it. I have a clean feedback score of 100% and I intend to keep it that way. I have listed everything correctly to the best of my knowledge. I will do everything possible to make this a smooth transaction for both of us. Please contact me with any questions.
