Vehicle Detail

I've owned this car for a little over a year. I bought it in Massachusetts so there was a little bit of rust when I bought it as well as a dent on the a pillar that they explained to be from someone throwing a bottle over into their yard. After that it remained in the garage 4-5 days a week for most of the first few months I owned it. During this time I cleaned it a lot, put new tires on it, put a new cat-back ansa exhaust, and replaced the headliner to a new blue plaid one. At the end of April I took a cross country road trip from Connecticut to the Midwest for 4 weeks. Then I drove to california for 2 weeks. I had no problems other than the bumper flew off sometime during highway driving. I would suspect it to be a 75mph road. I left with it on and noticed it was not there when I reached my destination. I had no idea it had come off, the bumper support is still there but the "plastic" cover is gone. When I reached california the first time I had no problems with the car other than while parked on the street someone hit my car causing the dent on the right rear door but it still works correctly. While in california I got an apartment and had 2 weeks until I could move in so I decided to head back to the Midwest, Connecticut and then back to california. So everything went flawlessly except when I got to Virginia. First I heard a boom and then a burning smell, I pulled over to figure it out when a nearby police officer stopped to observe, he came to the conclusion a spark plug blew out but it would still run. I drove it to a motel spent the night and took it to mechanic to figure out the problem. He removed the first plug cover to find the spark plug loose and the ignition coil smashed where the spark plug had blown into it. The mechanic said I could maybe drive it like this to california but the car was only running on 5 cylinders and putting unburned fuel into the engine compartment. Then at the 170 mile marker rest stop in Tennessee while I was stopping at a rest stop and brakes went hard and the engine stopped. I pressed the brake as hard as I can and parked. I examined the engine and it seemed another cylinder went out. I ended up leaving the car with an employee of the rest stop who said he would help me sell it rather than scrap it. He is in possession of the car, he took it to personal mechanic who took out all the spark plugs and said that there was metal pieces in each cylinder and the top of the engine needs to be rebuilt. The title for the car is in Connecticut and can be sent to a buyer. On Jul-20-10 at 00:36:58 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention: The engine does start but the situation is the rpms will just go really low until the point it stops (1-2 secs), but if you start the engine and keep revving it to keep the rpms up it will keep going and move under it's own power but it rumbles a lot and makes a booming noise. Also as mention before the brake pedal is very stiff, I don't know what this is because of but it happened at the same time the engine failed. I'm not certain but I think that the brakes still work, but not at full power but just enough to stop the car from slow speeds. I checked the brake fluid and it was full. The reason I'm selling the car if it isn't obvious is because I was on a road trip and the car just couldn't make it any more. I would love to have the car with me in california but the loss was greater than to just sell the car where it broke down. After the car broke down I got a u-haul and made it the rest of the way. It was a good car, it made 2 1/2 cross country trips with NO problems. The only dents I know of are the one on the left rear door, the a pillar. There is a slight dent on the hood but is really only seen when the light hits it and makes it obvious. It's not really worth mentioning but I know it's there. The transmission is good I've never had any problems. The seats are all in mostly good condition but the drivers seat has a few tears in high friction areas that are beginning to go all the way through but they look good regardless, I maintained the leather throughout the car for the time I had it. The dash, wheel, and inner doors are painted with acrylic paint and nail polish, cute things are written, I'm think there are products that remove those types of paints. There is no radio but the wires are all there, I took my radio out of the car the day I left it. The computer and dash lights all work as they should, the dash has a few error messages saying the trunk is open, to check the owners manual and a light attributed to a brake sensor failure. I didn't get around to replacing the front sensor but a new sensor is in the trunk. The red service light wasn't on before the car broke but it might be now. The spare is in the trunk, the tool kit is missing, the jack kit is there. There are locking lug nuts on all tires and a key in the trunk, (I had to buy a new key.) The rear wiper doesn't work, the but the motor for it does. The dual-sun roof has problems, the back opens good but the front has problems. The paint has a lot of scratches especially on the roof. The exhaust is an ansa oem replacement that was put on a few months ago. The glove box locks with the same key as the one to start the car. The heated seats work. I put lamin-x stickers on the front headlights and put in clear corners. The back rear glass doesn't lock, the screw that goes into the glass is stuck in the lock mechanism. The hand brake doesn't work, and hasn't since I bought the car. I replaced the tires before my first cross country trip and it has been mostly good weather highway use. There is still lots of good thread left. The alloy wheels are in ok shape, I cleaned them the best I could. The headliner is blue plaid hand made by me. I've had no sagging problems. I used 3 cans of 3m headliner glue to make sure it would be secure. It looks good, sorry theres no pictures. Everything I say is from memory and the condition of the car may be slightly different. I tried to describe all the problems I know of. I truly feel like with a new door, trim, bumper, and a working engine this car would be better than the day I bought it. The car is sold as-is. All questions can be asked on through ebay, I'll respond within a few hours to a day. This car was previously loved.
