Vehicle Detail
1976 3.0 Euro Carrera in good unrestored condition. Rare in that these cars were not available for sale in the United States and production numbers were quite low. Those who are familiar with these cars Love them. Galvanized body panels, Aluminum Block 3.0 liter, 200 hp/ 2470 lbs, CIS fuel injection, 5 speed manual, optional leather Recaro sport seats, stock flared rear wells, 7x15 front 8x15 rear fuchs, Carrera tail and front lip spoiler, pre cat/engine control. The car runs very strong and pulls hard through all gears. The engine uses no oil (leaks a little). Exact mileage is unknown due to a speedometer swap (german to US with similiar mileages) and the fact that it quit working a while back, but I would estimate around 98,000 on the low end. I have a pretty extensive file with Original german documents, import papers and maintenence receipts. Some with mileage records. The car was painted Grand Prix White at Stoddards in Ohio in 1988. The paint looks good but upon close inspection has some chips and flaws (clear coat) as the car has been driven. The black leather interior shows some ware but overall is in nice unrestored condition. No rips or tears in rugs or upholstery. The sport seats are a little rough around the edges. The headliner has some staining. Upgrades include H-4 style headlights, pop off valve, carrera chain tensioners, 11 blade fan, early style stainless heat exchangers, turbo valve covers, Fittipaldi steering wheel, K&N air filter, perma-tune coiless ignition box, starter motor and alternator, I replaced fuel delivery and return lines a few years back. Turn signal/dimmer switch has been replaced.l I saved most of the original parts if interested. On the downside Tires are getting worn, could use an oil change, heater blower quit working so I pulled it from the vehicle along with some of the plumbing but have all parts and it is pretty simple to re-install. When I first got the car I changed the spark plugs and on one of the plugs (left most forward) after about halfway the going got a little tough so I quit and did not change that plug. This car was featured at Porsches 40th anniversary Rennsport reunion in Daytona at the speedway in 2003 to represent the year 1976 in their car corral. That is what the decals on the windshield are from. This is a mean little Porsche that needs a little tlc. I haven't given the car the proper attention over the past couple years so it needs to go to someone that will. I've owned the car for ten years and was the fourth? principal owner. The car is a weekly driver for me but is an excellent candidate for restoration or rsr clone. I'm setting the buy it now at $15,000 with no Reserve. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, I'll help on my end. The car runs and drives fine but is 34 years old. Clear Florida title in hand. Local sale will end auction. Prefer no trades but will listen to offers. On Jul-19-10 at 09:26:56 PDT, seller added the following information: This revision concerns the mileage in the vehicle details portion where the mileage is listed at 11,000. That is an error. It was meant to be 110,000. That is the high estimate with the low being 98,000 as described in the vehicle description portion.
