PLEASE READ THE AD CAREFULLY AND THE Q&A. CONDITION: We have owned this car since 2004. The engine is not running and has possible damaged valves from a cam tensioner failure. This car has always been garage kept and is in immaculate condition inside and out. Never smoked in! ADDED COMMENT: The engine orginally had a leaking head gasket diagnosed by a local shop who wanted more than the value of the car to repair. I have considerable mechanical experience and a well equipt shop. I disassembled the engine replacing the head gaskets (of which 1 was allowing coolant into the number 6 cylinder)and reassembled the engine using Jaguar repair procedures, tools and using special cam alignment tools (rented from Ebay). The engine ran perfectly for about 10 minutes and then there was a sound of a slip in one of the variable timing chains or cam tensioners(there are 4) then a ticking sound like valves contacting the pistons. I stopped the engine and it would not restart. I assume that several valves were bent. I spent around $800 on gaskets and parts but I have no patience to disassemble this engine again.
