If you have been looking for a first generation Firebird convertible and are exhausted from looking at hot rodded, overpriced junk, THIS IS YOUR CAR! With only 11,649 Firebird convertibles produced in 1969 it is difficult enough finding a 69 now, but finding one like this is nearly impossible. With the one year only body style, it stands out from the 1967 or 1968 cars. Don't get me wrong, I love those cars too. You could search for years and not find another example like this car. NO DISAPPOINTMENTS! It is a rare 1969 Pontiac Firebird convertible that is a lifelong, two owner, show quality, 96,000 mile Southern California blue plate car that was bought new here in 1970. It had a professional body on restoration with receipts totaling nearly $20,000 for all the work performed. That did not include the cost of the car. If you are looking for a modified Bird, THIS IS NOT IT! It is a completely restored, bone stock car that is literally like driving a brand new 1969 Firebird. The paint and body are immaculate. The car does not have one speck of rust anywhere and never has. The floorboards, frame, and trunk pan are all absolutely beautiful and have never had any rust or repairs. They are as nice as you will find. The cocktail shakers are still in the trunk. It is absolutely arrow straight. The show quality paint is like glass. There are no paint chips and no scratches. The paint is the correct 59 code Limelight Green. It has the original matching #s YE code 350 c.i. engine with the VIN still stamped down by the crank pulley, Turbo 350 automatic transmission, power steering, power disc brakes, deluxe interior with buckets/console, and power top. I have had many first generation Firebirds over the years and this one runs and drives better than any other one I have ever driven. The engine starts right up, settles into a smooth idle, and is ready to go anywhere. I would not hesitate to drive this car to New York today. Fly in to Sunny San Diego and drive your new Firebird home to anywhere! It is whisper quiet with stock exhaust. No Flowmasters, no headers, no anything. If you appreciate factory original cars, you will fall in love with this one. The car is smooth, strong, and surprisingly fast. The suspension and brakes are excellent. It is just as comfortable out on the open road at 70 MPH as it is around town or cruising the beach. All the chrome is beautiful. The bumpers are excellent. All the weatherstripping was replaced at the time of restoration. The 216 code Custom Knit Vinyl Weave Deluxe interior was restored as well and is excellent. It has bucket seats with the center console and factory floor shifter. The door panels, dash pad, seats, carpet, etc all are in excellent shape. All the gauges and lights work well. Original steering wheel, factory AM radio. The correct A code Ivory White soft top is in excellent condition. Even the top assembly was stripped down, powdercoated, and restored. The power top works well. Rally II wheels with whitewall tires. Nobody will be disappointed with this car. Serious buyers only please.
